    Abstract: An assembly kills legionnaire bacteria in a water supply. The assembly is a made of silver exerting an oligodynamic effect and is installed within a cylindrical chamber through which hot water flows. The silver is combined with another noble metal which is higher in the electrochemical table of elements e.g. gold. The assembly is installed within a chamber (22) with pipes of incremental diameter in a concentric array, one inside the other. The pipes have silver wire windings. Each pipe has an external mantle (24) of gold, or other noble metal which is higher in the electrochemical table of elements. The pipes are made e.g. of bent sheet metal or plastic and bear alternating windings of silver and gold wire.
