Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a steel sheet having high brightness and high surface quality in spite of rolling at a high rolling speed by executing wiping of the steel sheet surface with steam at least prior to rolling in a final pass. SOLUTION: The austenitic stainless steel sheet is cold rolled by a reverse rolling mill using an oil-in-water type emulsion oil. The steam is injected to the steel sheet surface after one pass and after two passes in such a manner that the steel sheet temp. before the second pass attains >=65 deg.C and that the steel sheet temp. before the third pass attains >=75 deg.C. The wiping of the steel sheet surface is executed by the steam prior to rolling in at least the final pass, by which the oil-component and worn powder deposited on the steel sheet surface are removed. As a result, the purposes may be achieved and further edge cracking, chatter marks and sheet breakage may be prevented. The raw liquid of the emulsion oil is prepd. by using mineral oil, synthetic hydrocarbon, etc., having a low viscosity as a base oil and adding synthetic esters thereto.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject oiling agent exhibiting a low viscosity and an excellent lubricating property, capable of reducing an adhesion amount and the generation of seizing, and useful for producing highly lustrous stainless steel plates by a high speed rolling method by compounding a specific base oil, a secondary amine, a phosphite ester and a surfactant. SOLUTION: This water-soluble cold rolling oil agent comprises (A) a base oil (including a mineral oil, a synthetic ester or a synthetic hydrocarbon oil), (B) a secondary amine such as a compound of the formula: NHR R [R , R are each a (un)saturated (branched) alkyl, a (un)saturated cycloalkyl, an aryl], (C) a phosphite ester such as a compound of the formula: (R O)(R O)PH(=0) (R , R are each R ), a compound of the formula: (R O)(R O)POH or a compound of the formula: (R O)(R O)(R O)P (R is R ), and (D) surfactant such as a nonionic surfactant or an anionic surfactant.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent generation of roll coating on the surfaces of rolls regardless of draft to maintain satisfactory gloss on the surface of the steel strip after bright annealing, and to prevent the occurrence of uneven gloss by specifying the viscosity of the stock solution of the rolling mill lubricant of oil in water type emulsion rolling mill lubricant and a rolling speed, and performing finish cold rolling. SOLUTION: After performing the cold rolling of the stainless steel hot rolled strip and performing bright annealing, finish cold rolling is performed at a rolling speed of 300m/minute or below by a rolling mill with work rolls whose roll diameter is 250mm or below by using the oil in water type emulsion rolling mill lubricant consisting of the stock solution of the rolling mill lubricant whose viscosity at 40 deg.C is 15cSt or below and water. That is, the bright annealing is performed as finish annealing, the emulsion rolling mill lubricant is used in the finish cold rolling, and by preventing the generation of the uneven roll coating, uneven gloss generating on the surface of the steel strip can be prevented, and the stainless steel strip for the spring with a surface having high gloss can be easily obtained.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the high-speed cold rolling of both ferrite and austenite stainless steel with the same rolling oil and obtain steel plate of high gloss by specifying the kinds of ionic emulsifiers and the pH of the liquid emulsion. SOLUTION: When stainless steel is cold-rolled by using an emulsion oil containing ionic emulsifier(s) as a rolling oil, the pH of the emulsion oil is made weakly acidic, 4.0-6.5 pH in the case that a cationic emulsifier is used, while the pH is adjusted to 7.5-9.5, weakly alkaline, in the case that an anionic emulsifier is employed. Further, in the emulsion tank, the emulsion is separated into high-concentration and large particle size emulsion and low-concentration fine particle size emulsion to collect individual emulsions. These fractions are properly selected, mixed and used as a rolling oil.

In such a case, the cold rolling is executed by controlling so that the surface temp. of the steel strip just after cold rolling become a temp. in the range between a temp. Tmax ( deg.C) which is obtained by the formula (1) and a temp. Tmin ( deg.C) which is obtained by the formula (2). Formula (1): Tmax=190-2.5(7-η). Formula (2): Tmin=-1.07×10 V +0.226 V+6×10 (1400-V)(η-7)+42. Where, V is the rolling speed (m/min), η is the viscosity (cSt) of the undiluted solution the emulsion oil at 40 deg.C.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the development of an edge extension and a center buckling of a steel strip by arranging heating means in an air cooling zone in a vertical continuous annealing furnace, detecting a steel strip temp. at the outlet side of a heating means and controlling the heating temp. CONSTITUTION:In the vertical continuous annealing furnace 1, a heating means 10 is added to the inner part of the air cooling zone 5. A first steel strip temp. detecting means 11 is arranged at the lower part of this heating means 10, i.e., the outlet side of the air cooling zone 5. Further, if necessary, a second steel strip temp. detecting means 12 is added to the upper part of the heating means 10. These means 10, 11, 12 are electrically connected with a heating control means 13. The heating means 10 is controlled based on the signals of the steel strip temp. detecting means 11, 12 to suitably heat the steel strip W to the temp., at which the development of the buckling is free from care. By this method, low speed strip passing can stably be executed.
