Abstract: PURPOSE: To facilitate correction in accordance with uses by using a laser availability signal to control the gain characteristic. CONSTITUTION: When the signal from a photodetector 15 is applied to a detection circuit 17, a feedback signal is sent to an amplifier/digitizer 16, and the laser availability signal which corrects the light output from a light source 11 or changes the scanning angle is sent to a control part 14 to start a decoding circuit 18. The laser availability signal is used as the feedback signal to control the gain characteristic of the amplifier/digitizer 16.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system for improving the selection of an access point to be communicated by a mobile unit. SOLUTION: A communication network provided with a cellular local area radio network is provided with plural access points 5 connected to a house computer 4 and connected one and another and plural mobile units 2, and each mobile unit 2 can communicate with the access point. The mobile unit 2 can scan and identify the access point optimum for communication from the optimum quality and loading factor of signal strength. Adjacently to an exit, the access point having a directional antenna is positioned in order to identify the time when the mobile unit 2 gets out of a prescribed area, and when the mobile unit 2 gets closer, it is detected.
