Abstract: A method for configuring a connection comprises receiving a request to connect a mobile device having a mobile device type to a communications network including a private branch exchange (PBX) system having a PBX type. Identification information including at least one of the mobile device and the PBX type is provided. A PBX binding layer is selected based on the identification information. The selected PBX binding layer is provided to the mobile device for interfacing with the PBX system.
