Abstract:
An automated system, method, apparatus, device and/or computer program product for detecting positioning effect is set forth, the apparatus according to an exemplary embodiment may include an output operable to couple to one or more stimulating electrodes to stimulate one or more peripheral nerves of the patient, an input operable to couple to one or more recording electrodes to record resultant electrical waveforms generated by a nervous system of a patient in response to the stimulating module, and one or more processors operable to identify the positioning effect based on the resultant electrical waveforms.
Abstract:
This invention inspects animal breeding records to identify descendants of any chosen ancestor and annotates information about each descendant's relatedness to the chosen ancestor. This information can be compiled for multiple ancestors and thereby creates the basis for a means of discovering all of the descendants who represent any blend of ancestor elements in whatever amount of relationship to those ancestors is specified by the researcher. It is made most useful in conjunction with database records, the internet and graphical user interfaces. Bloodline and pedigree researchers can make comprehensive selection choices by utilizing the means specified herein.

Abstract:
Device with light can be employed to view an image otherwise hidden to the eye. The hidden image can be masked with another image that is visible to the eye without aid of the device. A display card can be employed to provide masking and hidden images.
Abstract:
Abrasive cleaning and decontamination methods and systems are disclosed. The methods and systems use a high pressure liquefied gas, such as carbon dioxide, which produces insignificant quantities of secondary waste. These principles of the invention exploit the properties of the relatively high triple point of CO2 in order to first pressurize it to 35,000 to 60,000 PSI from a pressurized liquid. In the pressurized state, such a fluid can be at or above room temperature, allowing for transport over long distances in a flexible high pressure hose. At a point of use, a heat exchanger may subsequently chill the liquid, so that after expansion through a small high pressure orifice, a significant fraction of the liquid is converted to solid phase crystals exiting at high velocity to effectively clean and decontaminate. For more aggressive cleaning, abrasive particles and/or small diameter solid CO2 pellets can be entrained into the high pressure CO2 slipstream.
Abstract:
A deployable and retractable space frame structure which requires no assembly, and can be either manually or automatically activated. It comprises rigid end rings or the like which attach to a multitude of spaced trusses of generally slender aspect ratio. The trusses are fabricated of two or more generally rigid, beam like strips which are hinged so as to become very flexible and non rigid when hinged strip elements lie planarly flattened, thus allowing the structure to collapse into a minimum volume state. In this configuration truss beams assume a curvature approximating the curvature of the structure end rings. Upon deployment, the truss beams become straight, and hinged beam-like strips fold to create a triangular cross sectional moment of inertia to become very rigid and straight. The structure is deployable and stow-able an infinite number of times, and is suitable for a wide variety of applications including telescope structures, portable building and antennae masts, planetary vehicles, space stations, and the like.

Abstract:
A tool for cutting holes in metal provides a shank defining at one end an arbor releasably carrying a circularly annular cutter that defines teeth at each cutter end which may be sequentially used to extend cutter life without sharpening. The annular cutter defines a plurality of spirally arrayed, inwardly extending flutes and alternating outwardly extending lands on both inner and outer sides to provide cutting edges on both cutter sides at each end. The lands are formed with buttress type sides angulated ten to sixty degrees to a radius passing therethrough steeper spiral arrays of lands and grooves are arrayed in shallower spirals with an angle of up to seventy degrees to the axis of the cutter to allow thinner wall construction in my cutter than in prior cutters. The thinner cutter wall allows definition of more cutting teeth than would thicker walls and the cutter configuration allows definition of stronger, more efficient teeth without gullets. A species of the tool provides a medial support disk that is axially movable within the channel defined by the cutter to stiffen the cutter to allow still thinner wall construction.

Abstract:
An aerial robot is disclosed. The aerial robot may include at least one pair of counter-rotating blades or propellers, which may be contained within a circumferential shroud or a duct. In one embodiment, the aerial robot may have the ability to hover and move indefinitely. Electric power to the robot may be provided by a tether or an on-board power supply. In tethered embodiments, a solid-state, electronic voltage transformer may be used to reduce a high voltage, low current source to lower voltage, higher current source. In one embodiment, secure data communication between a ground unit and the aerial robot is facilitated by impressing high bandwidth serial data onto the high voltage tether wires or a thin optical fiber which is co-aligned with the tether wires. In one embodiment, precise navigational and position controls, even under extreme wind loads, are facilitated by an on-board GPS unit and optical digital signal processors. In one embodiment, if the tether detaches, precision free-flight is possible with on-board batteries.
