    Abstract: An end cover assembly (100) for a lithium secondary battery is provided. The assembly (100) comprises: a sealing member (2) having an accommodating portion (21) therein for accommodating an upper cap (1), a thermal-sensitive member (7) disposed under the upper cap (1), and a metal bottom plate (6) disposed under the thermal sensitive member (7). A skirt portion (61) of the metal bottom plate (6) is flanged upwardly to wrap the thermal-sensitive member (7) and the upper cap (1) respectively with an insulating member (8) being disposed between the upper cap (1) and the metal bottom plate (6) for preventing the upper cap (1) from electrically contacting the metal bottom plate (6). Further, a lithium ion battery (200) having the end cover assembly (100) as described above is provided.
