    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reproduce a still picture efficiently by providing field memory, an interpolator circuit, a selection circuit, a reproduction mode specifying switch and a signal generator circuit and by selecting a field still picture reproduction and a frame still picture reproduction. CONSTITUTION:A still picture signal of a field memory 1 is supplied to an adder 2 and a one-hour delay circuit 3, and an output of the circuit 3 is transmitted to one input terminal 5A of a selection circuit 4 and the adder 2. An output of the adder 2 is transmitted to the other input terminal 5B of the circuit 4 through an 1/2 coefficient multiplier 5. Here, a switch 16 for specifying a field still picture reproduction and a frame still picture reproduction is provided. When the switch 16 specifies the field still picture reproduction, the circuit 4 selects an input of the terminal 5A, and when the frame still picture reproduction is specified, the circuit 4 is caused to select alternately the inputs of the terminals 5A and 5B at every field. A control signal of the circuit 4 is generated in a signal generator circuit 14.

The other input signal is amplified by an ampli fier 17 into high range signals through an HPF 18 so that the resultant high signals are added to the low range signals from the LPF 16 by an adder 19. As a result, the composed output has a higher gain at a middle range than at a low range and has also a higher gain at a high range than the low range so that the frequency characteristics of each band is so adjusted as to have no deterioration in the sound guality in the high range. Thus,it is possible to generate such signals as have their breathers of the noises reduced under the condition having no clear noise in the low range.
