It is characterised in that it comprises performing a communication procedure between a PCRF module and a PCE+ module by means of an adaptor entity in order to provide, said PCE+ module, information to said PCRF module, said PCRF module using said information to at least allocate network and/or IT resources demanded when provisioning said services.

A method and a system for managing transit connectivity failures in a IP/MPLS network, and access node for such a system The method comprises providing means to provide alternative connectivity, through a backup transit node, to one or more access nodes which have been affected by a transit connectivity failure, and requesting said alternative connectivity by each of said access nodes under a transit connectivity failure or by an intermediate node said access nodes are connected to. For a preferred embodiment, the transit level of said IP/MPLS network is designed as a single non-protected layer. The system and the access node are both arranged for implementing the method.

A system and a method to perform spectrum allocation in an optical network. In the system of the invention, said spectrum allocation is performed according to a control plane, said spectrum allocation comprises path and resource provision and further comprises spectrum optimization. The system is characterised in that said optical network is an elastic optical network comprising a plurality of elastic optical nodes and in that it comprises: - at least an elastic optical node controller in each of said elastic optical nodes for said path and resource provision, said path and resource provision at least comprising reserving resources and establishing a connection link between at least part of said plurality of elastic optical nodes; - protocol extensions for said control plane in order to at least perform said path and resource provision; and - an optical spectrum manager providing said spectrum optimization, connected to said plurality of elastic optical nodes, comprising adapting spectrum usage according to traffic measures carried out by a monitoring tool in said elastic optical network. The method is arranged for carrying out said path and resource provision and said spectrum optimization.

A multilayer communications network system for distributing multicast services and a method for such a distribution The system comprises a switched optical transport network layer, such as a WSON, and an electronic packet switched network layer, such as a IP/MPLS, where the switched optical transport network layer transports multicast flows services and the electronic packet switched network layer is a backup layer of a dynamic restoration mechanism for recovery against one or more failures occurring in the switched optical transport network layer. The method comprises transporting multicast flows services through the switched optical transport network layer, and performing a recovery against one or more failures occurring in the switched optical transport network layer by means of a dynamic restoring carried out by using said electronic packet switched network layer as a backup layer.
