Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve a washing effect and to make a quick and highly effective measurement of organic contamination turbidity possible, by carrying out automatic washing and manual washing by jetting air in a passing hole of a liquid to be inspected or inserting a freely detachable manual brush. CONSTITUTION:When an air pump 24 is started, air bubbles are jetted from an opening 27 of the lower part of a measurement cell 5 and a compensation cell 6 of a detection part for measurement 4 and contaminants stuck to the cells 5, 6 are washed automatically. Next, when the pump 4 is stopped and an air pump 25 is started, the bubbles are jetted from an opening 29 of the upper part of the cell 5, 6 and pressure difference is brought out between the upper and lower sides of the cells 5, 6. Then, circulation of a liquid to be inspected is accelerated and the degree of contamination turbidity of the liquid to be inspected is measured in accordance with the absorption rate of ultrviolet rays etc. On one hand, when manually operating brushes 31, 30 are inserted into each cell 5, 6 through a movable pipe, the cells 5, 6 are washed manually. The degree of organic contamination turbidity is measured quickly and highly effectively by impreving the washing effect by using jointly the automatic washing and manual washing.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To facilitate and easy modification as well as to realize a long-time reservation for the calibration checking standard solution of the iodine substitution type polarograph-system chlorine gauge which measures the residual chlorine in the water process system, by using the oxidizing agent which oxidizes the iodine ion and the acid which gives a fixed pH in combination. CONSTITUTION:The calibration checking standard solution for the iodine substitution type polarograph-system residual chlorine gauge is produced by mixing the oxidizing agent which liberates the iodine through oxidization of the iodine ion and the acid (such as the sulfuric acid, nitric acid, etc.) of such amount as to secure pH1.5-3.0 when mixed with the active reagent at introduction into the residual chlorine gauge. The oxidizing agent uses the sodium iodate, potassium iodate, potassium dichromate and the like, and is modified previously up to the 1-1000- fold density compared with the introduction time into the residual chlorine gauge. And in the case of the bromine substitution type polarograph-system liberation chlorine gauge, the potassium salt of bromic acid or the sodium salt is used for the oxidizing agent.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To exactly measure an osmotic pressure by vertically and relatively moving a sublimation nucleus and sample liquid surface to bring both into contact with each other and to freeze the sample liquid, measuring the freezing point and determining the osmotic pressure of the sample liquid in accordance with the freezing point depression degree. CONSTITUTION:The substantial sublimation nucleus is formed to the top end of a metallic rod 5 and after the sample liquid in a measuring cell 2 attains a supercooling stage, a valve 18 is opened and a pump 12 is operated to raise the sample liquid surface in the cell 2 up to the height at which said liquid surface surely contacts with the sublimation nucleuous. The sample liquid instantaneously freezes when the ice crystal angle contacts with the sample liquid in the supercooled state. The temp. of the sample liquid is increased from the supercooling temp. by the latent released at the same instant and attains the equil. temp., i.e., freezing point temp. for several seconds in the co-existence state of the ice and water; therefore the freezing point depression degree is determined by detecting such temp. The osmotic pressure is calculated by an arithmetic unit from the freezing point depression degree.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To achieve the prevention of volatilization of chlorine and the stabilization of a hypochlorous acid solution during its storage by adding a strong alkali to the hypochlorous acid solution containing chlorine of 1-1,000 times the concentration of a standard solution so as to become of the specific concentration and storing said solution in an ultraviolet ray shielding vessel. CONSTITUTION:A strong alkali of NaOH or KOH is added to the hyprochlorous acid solution containing chlorine contents of 1-1,000 times, preferably about 100 times the concentration of the standard solution used for the purpose of measuring the residual chlorine of the time when chlorine is used for the treatment of city water or the like so as to become of the concentrations 0.1-1N and the resulted solution is put in an ultraviolet ray shielding storage vessel (preferably brown-colored polyethylene) and is thereby stored. Even after about 3 months, the concentration change is slight and the storage as a standard stock solution is feasible. At the time of its use, it is diluted to 1-1,000 times (preferably 100 times) and the solution may be used as a standard solution for residual chlorine meter without undergoing calibration and checking.

The sample blood finished the measurement in the cell 2 is sucked out from the cell 2 by a pump 13 and is sent to a next analyzing apparatus 14 for nonionic substance such as nitrogen and creatinine to measure nitrogen and creatinine.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable to obtain steady measurements, by a method wherein a pure water added with phosphatic salt buffer liquid forms an absorption liquid. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust gas containing a hydrogen chloride gas, or measuring gas is fed to an absorption cell 1 through a gas feed pipe 2. The absorption cell 1 is filled with minute glass balls 3 to make better contact with gas. A pure water is supplied through a feed line l1 from a pure water tank 5 by a liquid feed pump 6, and a phosphatic salt buffer liquid is fed from a phosphatic salt buffer liquid tank 7. The phosphatic salt buffer liquid is a water solution containing 1mol/l-1X10 mol/l phosphate of dinatrium. The absorption liquid, absorbing the hydrogen, is fed to a measurement cell 10 through a line l3 by a pumping-out device 9, and the concentration of the hydrogen chloride is measured by a measuring electrode 11.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To facilitate an easy modification as well as to secure a long-time reservation for the calibration checking standard solution of the alkalinity gauge which is used for the clean water process precipitation reservoir or the like by using the sodium carbonate concentrated solution and the weak acid securing the fixed pH in combination. CONSTITUTION:The calibration checking standard solution for the alkalinity gauge is produced by dissolving the sodium carbonate of the calculated amount into the weak acid such as the boric acid containing slution. The calculated amount of the sodium carbonate is set preferably to 5-100-fold of the alkalinity conversion density of the standard solution to be introduced into the alkalinity gauge when the calibration check is given. And the quantity of the weak acid is set to such amount as to secure the pH9.5-6.5 standard solution when the weak acid is diluted for use, and the boric acid is set preferably to 0.2-26g/l respectively.
