Abstract: PURPOSE:To simply measure high concn. hydrazine with good reproducibility by a method wherein potassium nitrate or potassium chloride is added to and mixed with water to be examined containing hydrazine to be measured in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:Potassium nitrate or potassium chloride is added to water to be examined containing hydrazine to be measured in an amount of 0.012 mol/l or more to be uniformly mixed therewith by a mixer 8 and the redox current of hydrazine is measured with respect to the water to be examined. That is, KCl or KNO3 is preliminarily added to the water to be examined guided from boiler water to be examined guided from boiler water as a support electrolyte to be uniformly mixed therewith by the mixer 8 and contained up to the high concn. corresponding to the concn. of hydrazine being a limit capable of being usually contained in boiler water and, therefore, the linearity of the concn. of hydrazine and a current value is obtained from a low concn. range of about 0 - 20 ppb of hydrazine to a high concn. range of about 10 ppm and hydrazine can be measured with good reproducibility.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable measurement of the ion to be measured in a soln. in which the ion to disturb measurement coexists by bringing the soln. to be measured into contact with the same compsn. as the compsn. in the sensitive part of an ion electrode then bringing the soln. into contact with an ion electrode. CONSTITUTION:The concn. of the chlorine ion in a soln. cannot be measured if iodine ion and bromine ion coexist in the soln. in the case of measuring said chlorine ion. A soln. 2 to be measured is thereupon put into a solid-liquid contact tank 6 and is brought into thorough reaction with silver chloride particles, by which the iodine ion and bromine ion are thoroughly removed from the soln. The soln. is then conducted into a beaker 1 and is brought into contact with a chlorine ion electrode 4 and a reference electrode 5, by which the concn. of the chlorine ion in the soln. 2 is measured.
