Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding which can heighten its content so that it may help the packed catalyst to efficiently exhibit its catalysis by efficiently adsorbing malodorants and harmful components such as heavy metals and contaminants, can keep stable performances even during a long-term use, and has the ability to be easily and densely packed into a packing tower. SOLUTION: The porous molding comprises 80-98 wt.% filler and 2-20 wt.% carbon and is characterized by having pores having a mean pore diameter distribution having peaks in at least two regions of 2 to 5 nm and above 5 nm to 50 nm.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide Ca-Fe based laminar compound particles which are harmless and have excellent dispersibility, by coating Ca-Fe based particles with a specific compound to give specified characteristics and a specified composition. SOLUTION: The Ca-Fe based laminar compound particles comprise Ca-Fe based hydrotalcite type particles whose surfaces were coated with one or more compounds selected from hydroxycarboxylic acids, polycarboxylic acids and rosin compounds. The Ca-Fe based hydrotalcite type particles have an average plate surface diameter of 0.1 to 3.0 μm, a thickness of 0.01 to 0.07 μm and a Ca:Fe molar ratio of [1-(x)]:(x) wherein (x) is expressed by the inequality: 0.2

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hydrogen chloride-scavenger capable of effectively catching toxic hydrogen chloride generated through thermal decomposition and combustion of chlorine-containing resin moldings in fire and incineration and fixing it as stable calcium chloride, or the like, and a chlorine-containing resin molding by dispersing the chlorine-scavenger in the resin molding mainly comprising a chlorine-containing resin. SOLUTION: This chlorine-scavenger is particulate powder comprising a complex oxide of calcium and iron having 0.1-100 m /g BET specific surface area and containing 1-500 mole % of iron atoms based on calcium atoms, and 50% or more of the iron atoms form a calcium-iron ferrite phase in the complex oxide. The chlorine-containing resin molding comprises mainly a chlorine- containing resin in which the chlorine scavenger is dispersed to make the ratio of one calcium atom in the chlorine scavenger over two chlorine atoms in the resin to a range of 0.5-2.0.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To ensure that a large amount of fine iron oxide is firmly carried by a ceramic or metal monolith. CONSTITUTION:A ceramic or metal monolith carrier is soaked in an aqueous mixed solution containing ferrous and ferric salt, and impregnated with the aqueous mixed solution containing ferrous and ferric salts. Next, the monolith carrier is allowed to have magnetite particles deposited and carried by soaking the monolith carrier impregnated with the aqueous mixed solution containing ferrous and ferric salts in an aqueous alkali hydroxide solution or an aqueous alkali carbonate solution. Alternately, the monolith carrier carrying deposited magnetite particles is thermally processed, if necessary.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject product having a noble color tone of high fastness by pretreating synthetic leather comprising polyamide fibers and polyurethane resin through a specific process, then dipping the leather in a specific hydrosol of noble metal. CONSTITUTION:Synthetic leather made from polyamide or polyester fibers and a polyurethane resin is pretreated with an aqueous solution containing a cationic surface active agent such as a quaternary stearyltrimethylammonium chloride. Then, the leather is dipped in a noble metal hydrosol of 2.5 to 4 pH containing an anionic surface active agent of an alkali salt of aromatic sulfonic acid-formaldehyde polycondensate and a noble metal colloid selected from gold, silver, platinum, rhodium and ruthenium to give the objective product having the noble metal colloid adsorbed and supported in the synthetic leather.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To secure excellent catalytic performances and the like by impregnating a monolithic carrier with an aq. soln. of iron (II) salt, immersing the monolithic carrier in an aq. soln. of alkali hydroxide and introducing an oxygen-contg. gas thereinto in order to deposit a large amt. of iron oxide particles and the like firmly on the monolithic carrier. CONSTITUTION:The iron oxide-base catalyst for treatment of gaseous material is produced by the following process. First, a monolithic carrier made of ceramics or metal is immersed in an aq. soln. of iron (II) salt to impregnate the carrier with this soln. Then, the monolithic carrier impregnated with the iron (II) salt aq. soln. is immersed in an aq. soln. of alkali hydroxide or alkali carbonate soln. while an oxygen-contg. gas is introduced to the soln. Thus, magnetite particles or magnetite-contg. iron (III) hydroxide particles are precipitated and deposited on the monolithic carrier. Then the monolithic carrier obtd. by precipatation of particles is washed with water, dried, and heat treated at 200-700 deg.C. The obtd. catalyst contains a large amt. of particles firmly deposited on the monolithic carrier and has excellent catalytic performances and high strength.
