Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject compound useful for the development of medicines, etc. at a low cost on a large seale by allowing an epimerase to act on VDP-GlcNac and subsequently applying a column to the product to separate the compound from the raw material, wherein a lectin capable of selectively binding to the compound is immobilized on the column. SOLUTION: This method for producing VDP-GalNAc comprises allowing an epimerase to act on VDP-GlcNAc to convert into the VDP-GalNAc, subjecting the reaction mixture to a column to separate the VDP-GalNAc from the VDP-GlcNAc. A lectin capable of selectively binding to the VDP-GalNAc is immobilized on the column. Thus, the objective VDP-GalNAc can be obtained at a low cost on a large scale. Dolichosbiflorus agglutinin(DBA), Griffonia simplicifolia agglutinin(GSA), Helix pomatia agglutinin(HPA), etc., are desirably used as the lectin capable of selectively binding to the VDP-GalNAc.
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a production process for magnesium citrate pentahydrate which is excellent in solubilization and storability. CONSTITUTION:Magnesium metal or its salt is allowed to react with citric acid and the reaction product is precipitated to give magnesium hydrogen citrate pentahydrate wherein the citric acid is used in 1.1 to 1.8 mole per mole of magnesium metal or its salt.
Abstract:
A moisture absorbent composition and a moisture absorbent molding each comprising a thermoplastic resin compounded with a moisture absorbent. The composition and the molding can be formulated so as to attain a different equilibrium humidity by replacement with a resin which is of the same kind but has a different specific gravity. Environments suitable for the preservation of a variety of products can be easily formed. The moisture absorbent composition comprises a thermoplastic resin compounded with a moisture absorbent having an equilibrium vapor pressure, the moisture absorbent being magnesium sulfate represented by the formula MgSO 4 · nH 2 O (wherein 0‰¤n‰¤3). The surface of the moisture absorbent is coated with a fatty acid metal salt so that the moisture absorbent comes to have a secondary particle size of 1-40 µm when dispersed in the thermoplastic resin. It has become possible to increase/reduce the equilibrium humidity by a given value with an increase/decrease in specific gravity by a certain value without changing the kind of the thermoplastic resin.
