    Abstract: Disclosed are a method for producing microparticles of a polylactic acid-based resin, porous microparticles of a polylactic acid-based resin, said microparticles having a small particle diameter, showing a high oil absorption ability and being appropriately usable for cosmetics, smooth-surfaced microparticles of a polylactic acid-based resin, said microparticles having a spherical form, showing a narrow particle diameter distribution and being appropriately usable for toners, and cosmetics using the aforementioned microparticles of a polylactic acid-based resin. The process for producing microparticles of a polylactic acid-based resin comprises: dissolving a polylactic acid-based resin (A) and a polymer (B), which is different from polylactic acid-based resins, in an ether-based organic solvent (C); applying a shear force thereto to form an emulsion; and bringing the emulsion into contact with a poor solvent of the polylactic acid-based resin (A). According to this production process, it becomes possible to provide porous microparticles of the polylactic acid-based resin, said microparticles having a fusion enthalpy of the polylactic acid-based resin (A) of 5 J/g or greater, having a small particle diameter and showing a high oil absorption ability, and to provide smooth-surfaced microparticles of the polylactic acid-based resin, said microparticles having a fusion enthalpy of less than 5 J/g, having a spherical form and showing a narrow particle diameter distribution.

    Abstract: Provided are: a method for producing microparticles of a polylactic acid-based resin; porous microparticles of a polylactic acid-based resin, said microparticles having a small particle diameter, showing a high oil absorption ability and being appropriately usable for cosmetics; smooth-surfaced microparticles of a polylactic acid-based resin, said microparticles having a spherical form, showing a narrow particle diameter distribution and being appropriately usable for toners; and a cosmetic using the aforesaid microparticles of a polylactic acid-based resin. The method for producing microparticles of a polylactic acid-based resin comprises: dissolving a polylactic acid-based resin (A) and a polymer (B), which is different from polylactic acid-based resins, in an ether-type organic solvent (C); applying a shear force thereto to form an emulsion; and then contacting the emulsion with a poor solvent of the polylactic acid-based resin (A). According to this production method, porous microparticles of the polylactic acid-based resin, said microparticles having a fusion enthalpy of the polylactic acid-based resin (A) of 5 J/g or greater, having a small particle diameter and showing a high oil absorption ability, and smooth-surfaced microparticles of the polylactic acid-based resin, said microparticles having a fusion enthalpy less than 5 J/g, having a spherical form and showing a narrow particle diameter distribution, can be provided.

    Abstract: A polysiloxane-polyalkylene glycol block copolymer obtained by reacting a polysiloxane (A) having a functional group selected from a carboxylic anhydride group, a hydroxyl group, an epoxy group, an amino group, and a thiol group with a polyalkylene glycol (B) having a functional group selected from a carboxylic anhydride group, a hydroxyl group, an amino group, an epoxy group, and a thiol group to obtain a polysiloxane-polyalkylene glycol block copolymer intermediate, and further reacting a part of the carboxyl groups of the polysiloxane-polyalkylene glycol block copolymer intermediate with a compound reactive with a carboxyl group, wherein a content of a structure derived from the polysiloxane (A) is 30% by mass or more and 70% by mass or less with respect to 100% by mass of the entire polysiloxane-polyalkylene glycol block copolymer, and wherein the polysiloxane-polyalkylene glycol block copolymer has a carboxyl group content of 0.1 mmol/g to 0.75 mmol/g and a weight average molecular weight of 5,000 to 500,000. Provided is a polysiloxane-polyalkylene glycol block copolymer which is well dispersed in an epoxy resin in the case of being blended with the epoxy resin, and can achieve a decreased stress of the cured epoxy resin.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method for producing polymer fine particles, which is characterized in that after forming an emulsion in a system obtained by dissolving and mixing a polymer A, a polymer B and an organic solvent, and consisting of two separate phases, namely a solution phase mainly composed of the polymer A and a solution phase mainly composed of the polymer B, a poor solvent of the polymer A is brought into contact with the emulsion, thereby precipitating the polymer A. By this method, polymer fine particles having a narrow particle size distribution can be easily synthesized. Consequently, the method can be effectively applied to production of polymers having high heat resistance which have been difficult to produce.

    Abstract: Disclosed are conductive microparticles, each of which is composed of a polymer microparticle and a conductive layer that is formed by coating the surface of the polymer microparticle with a metal. The conductive microparticles have an elastic modulus (E) at 5% displacement in a range of 1-100 MPa. Especially in cases where the conductive microparticles have a shape recovery ratio (SR) in a range of 0.1- 13% under a load of 9.8 mN, a particle size distribution index of 1-3 and a particle size in a range of 0.1-100 ?m, the conductive microparticles can exhibit excellent conduction reliability in applications such as conductive adhesives for flexible boards.
