    Abstract: PURPOSE:An electron beam-curable composition which can give a paint film excellent in surface property and uniformity, comprising a specified electron beam- curable compound and a metal (oxide) powder. CONSTITUTION:An electron beam-curable compound of a MW of 280-8,000 having an unsaturated group and an isocyanato group in the molecule, is obtained by a method such as a reaction of 1mol of a diisocyanate compound with about 0.15-2.85mol of a monoalcohol having a radical-polymerizable unsaturated group, or a reaction of 1mol of a trialcohol with about 1.5-3mol of a diisocyanate and about 0.15-2.85mol of a monoalcohol having a radical-polymerizable unsaturated group. 5-70wt% said compound is mixed with 95-30wt% metal (oxide) powder (e.g., titanium white or magnetic substance powder).

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled lens having a high water content and superior strength by mixing alkoxy polyethylene glycol mono(meth)acrylate with a specified monomer and/or a post-cross-linkable polymer and an org. solvent, and polymerizing and molding the mixture. CONSTITUTION:Alkoxy polyethylene glycol mono(meth)acrylate (A) represented by the formula (where (n) is >=4, R1 is H or methyl, and R2 is 1-4C alkoxy) is mixed with one or more kinds of monomers (B) selected from alkyl esters of (meth)acrylic acid such as methyl acrylate and/or a post-cross-linkable polymer (B) contg. said monomer as one of the constituent components and having polymerizable double bonds in the molecule and an org. solvent (C) so as to regulate the polymn. ratio of A:B to 95:5-10:90 and the content of the component C to 5-90wt%. The mixture is polymerized, and simultaneously it is molded to obtain the desired soft contact lens.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an electron beam-curable paint having excellent mechanical characteristics and resistance to solvents and staining, consisting of an alkyl (alpha-substd.) acrylate/alkylene glycol mono(meth)acrylate copolymer and a polyfunctional vinyl monomer or oligomer. CONSTITUTION:A paint compsn. consists mainly of 100pts.wt. copolymer (A) composed of 94-60pts. alkyl acrylate or alpha-substd. acrylate having a number- average MW of 8,000-400,000, 6-40pts. alkylene glycol monomer and optionally 0-35pts. other copolymerizable monomer and 5-250pts. polyfunctional vinyl monomer contg. at least two radical polymerizable double bonds per molecule or oligomer (B) having an MW of 6,000 or below. In component B, the monomer has an MW of 500 or below and the ligomer has an MW of 500-6,000.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide titled composition of single coating type for use in precoat metal, capable of giving coating film of high adhesiveness and excellent mechanical properties with gloss free to regulate, comprising each specific urethane oligomer, tri(meth)acryloxyethyl phosphate, etc. in specified proportion.     Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce a strain-free hydrogel molding in good reproducibility, by polymerizing a mixture of an alkylene glycol mono(meth)acrylate, a polymer prepared from this monomer and other monomers and an organic solvent in a mold. CONSTITUTION:The following mixture is polymerized in a mold having any desired shape: a mixture comprising (A) an alkylene glycol mono(meth)acrylate or a monomer mixture based thereon, (B) a polymer having double bonds in the molecule, prepared from an alkylene glycol mono(meth)acrylate or a mixture thereof with other monomers, and (C) an organic solvent, wherein component B is present in an amount (wt%) higher than that of component A. Although the organic solvents may be any of those which can dissolve components A and B uniformly to form a clear solution, water-soluble organic solvents are particularly preferable because they can be readily removed by extraction during the hydration of the hydrogel molding.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate the trouble in stripping of a photosensitive layer from a substrate and to inhibit the chemical reaction between the substrate material and the photosensitive layer by providing an intermediate layer contg. chlorinated polyolefin and a multifunctional vinyl monomer between the substrate and the photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:In a lithographic printing plate requiring no damping water wherein a photosensitive layer and silicone rubber are laminated on a substrate, 100pts.wt. chlorinated polyolefin such as chlorinated polyethylene, chlorinated polypropylene and the like made by chlorinating polyolefin and olefin copolymers is provided between the substrate and the photosensitive layer. The intermediate layer wherein the coating layer consisting essentially of 5-100pts.wt. a polyfunctional vinyl monomer which reacts to cross-link and to harden when irradiated with electron beams or UV rays (a compound of =2 double bonds having radical polymerizability in the same molecule) for the purpose of cross-linking and binding the chlorinated polyolefin is interposed.

CONSTITUTION:1-40wt% Trifunctional isocyanate such as biuret bound matter of triisocyanate derived from lysine, etc. (component A), 1-40wt% monomer having polymerizable double bonds of hydroxyalkyl ester, etc. of unsatd. carboxylic acid and active hydrogen (component B), 20-80wt% specific polydimethylsiloxane for the purpose of providing oxygen permeability to a contact lens (component C) and 20-80wt% hydrophobic monomer such as alkyl ester, etc. of acrylic acid (component D) are brought into reaction. A crosslinking agent such as ethylene grycol diacrylate or the like and a polymn. initiator such as benzoyl peroxide, etc. are used if necessary.
