Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyphenylene sulfide film which can be formed stably in improved yields without encountering defects of spinneret streaks and is excellent in processability in use for capacitors. SOLUTION: There are provided a polyphenylene sulfide resin composition, wherein the difference between the content of volatiles at 250 deg.C and that of volatiles at 150 deg.C is at most 0.3 wt.% based on the total resin composition and a polyphenylene sulfide film based on a polyphenylene sulfide resin composition, wherein the difference between the content of volatiles at 250 deg.C and that of volatiles at 150 deg.C is at most 0.02 wt.% based on the total film.

SOLUTION: Polyphenylene sulfide resin compositions comprise a polyphenylene sulfide resin and have a melt viscosity at 316 deg.C after heat treatment of 1,500 P to less than 6,000 P and, at the same time, a difference in melt viscosity between before and after heat treatment of less than 2,000 P, and the polyphenylane sulfide films are produced by using the same.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for stably producing a polyphenylene sulfide film excellent in processability on use in a capacitor in yields improved by eliminating color unevenness (i.e., streaky defects in the lengthwise direction of a film) sometimes occurring during film formation. SOLUTION: There are provided method for producing a heat-treated polyphenylene sulfide resin composition comprising heat-treating a polyphenylene sulfide resin composition having a viscosity of 1,500 to below 6,000 P at a temperature of 100 to below 200 deg.C for a time of 2 to below 30 hr in a vacuum or inert gas atmosphere of an oxygen partial pressure of below 20 mmHg and a method for producing a film based on the heat-treated polyphenylene sulfide resin composition.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide biaxially oriented poly-p-phenylene sulfide films suitable for film condenser dielectrics, release sheets, floppy disk bases and the like which are good in sliding properties and reduced in falling-off of particles, and high in withstand voltage and reduced in insulation defects. SOLUTION: A biaxially oriented poly-p-phenylene sulfide film contains inert fine particles in the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped, and the average value of the side length ratio (the maximum side length to the minimum side length) of the inert fine particles in the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped in the film is 1-3, and the average particle diameter (the average value of a diameter corresponding to the area of a circle) is 0.05-3 μm and, in addition, the content of the inert fine particles in the film is 0.05 wt.% to less than 2 wt.%. Further, the inert fine particles are of calcite type calcium carbonate in the shape of a cube with a side length ratio of 1.
