    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium which substantially prevents the flawing of a substrate surface and has an excellent protective property and a production method thereof. SOLUTION: This optical recording medium has an org. protective layer. The org. protective layer consists of a cured layer of a chemical ray curing resin compsn. consisting essentially of at least two kinds of polymerizable monomers having >=2 pieces of acryloyloxy groups in one molecule. This process for producing the optical recording medium includes a stage for applying the chemical ray curing resin compn. common, contg. the polymerizable monomers and solvents on the substrate and curing the coating. The solvents are at least one kind selected from propylene glycol monomethyl ether and propylene monomethyl ether.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a malfunction with an optical recording medium from stocking to an application roll and being raised and by providing adhesive strength of 0.1-200g/cm for the optical recording medium or a substrate for the optical recording medium on a transfer tray. SOLUTION: The transfer tray 2 is fixed to a base 17, and the optical recording medium or the substrate 1 for the optical recording medium L is loaded on the transfer tray 2, and pressure of 0.5kgf/cm is applied to the entire surface of the optical recording medium of the substrate for the optical recording medium, and the optical recording medium or the substrate 1 for the optical recording medium is stuck to the transfer tray 2. In this case, the strength of the adhesive strength of the transfer tray is adjusted to 0.1-200g/cm , preferably to 0.5-20g/cm by taking both of the cases, when the optical recording medium or the substrate for the optical recording medium is transferred and the case, when it is taken out from the transfer tray into consideration.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of the inconvenience and trouble occurring in the protrusion of an adhesive for sticking by coating the outer side of stuck substrates with protective coating layers. SOLUTION: The stuck substrate 7 is formed by sticking plural sheets of the substrates 3, 3 via the adhesive to each other. The outer side of the stuck substrate 7 is subjected to protective coating, by which the protective coating layers 9 are so formed as to enclose the entire part of the substrate 7. Even if the adhesive protrudes to the outer peripheral side of the substrates of such optical recording medium 8 provided with the protective coating layers 9 in such a manner by sticking of the substrates 3, the substrates are subjected to the protective coating together with these protruding parts. Then, the occurrence of the device trouble and product trouble by the protruding adhesive in succeeding stages is surely prevented. The protective coating layers 9 are preferably formed as the hard coating layers formed by coating with hard coating materials.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance adhesion, electric charge receptivity, and charge retentivity by using a thin film of titanium oxide obtained by heat treating alkyl titanate containing alkyl groups for an undercoat layer. CONSTITUTION:An organic photoconductive layer composed of the undercoat layer, a charge generating layer, and a charge transfer layer laminated on a conductive substrate. This undercoat layer is the thin film of titanium oxide having alkyl groups formed by coating the substrate with a solution of the alkyl titanate represented by the formula Ti(OR)4, R being 1-8C alkyl, drying and heat treating it, thus permitting the obtained photosensitive body to be superior in adhesion, charge receptivity, charge retentivity, and stability during repeated uses.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase the sensitivity of a sensitive body and to reduce the fatigue due to repeated use by using a specified bisazo compound as a charge generating substance. CONSTITUTION:An electrically conductive layer and a photosensitive layer contg. a charge generating substance and a charge transferring substance are formed to obtain a sensitive body. At this time, a bisazo compound represented by formula I (where Cp is a group represented by formula II, each of R -R is H, halogen, alkyl or alkoxy and R is H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy or nitro) is used as the charge generating substance. The photosensitive layer may have any of laminate type and single layer type structures. A sensitive body having spectral sensitivity suitable for an electrophotographic process and also having superior stability to repeated use can be obtd.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure high rigidity of the whole body, prevent a substrate from being deformed even when the substrate is thin, and achieve high reliability in recording, reading, by laminating on the substrate a layer of a higher rigidity than that of the substrate. SOLUTION: A layer 21 of a higher rigidity than that of substrates 13 is interposed between a pair of the substrates 13. The substrates 13 and high rigidity layer 21 are layered and bonded via an adhesive layer 6. Recording to a recording layer formed on the substrates 13 or reading from the recording layer is enabled by a laser light through a transparent substrate in an arrow direction. An optical recording medium 22 of a type read from both sides is constituted in this manner. The high-rigidity layer 21 is formed of a thin, but highly rigid and light-weight material, e.g. metallic thin plate, highly rigid polymer thin sheet or honeycomb structural body. Accordingly, even when the thin substrates 13 are used, high rigidity is secured as a whole, and the substrates 13 are prevented from being deformed, etc. Favorable record, read performance is ensured.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent the mixture of bubbles into a discharged paint and to eliminate defective coating by removing the bubbles from the paint being transferred substantially at a directly upstream position from a nozzle when the paint for forming a protective layer is sent to be discharged from the nozzle to form the protective layer. SOLUTION: A paint 12 for forming a protective layer stored in a paint storage tank 11 is pumped up by a pump 13 and sent to a nozzle 15 through liquid sending piping 14. A discharge control valve 17 for controlling the discharge amount and discharge timing of paint from the nozzle 15 on the basis of a discharge signal 16 is installed downstream from the pump 13, and downstream from it, a filter 18 for removing bubbles and a suck-back valve 19 for sucking droplets into a liquid sending system after discharge lest the droplets remain at the end of the needle of the nozzle 15 are installed. In the filter 18, a vibration mechanism or an ultrasonic oscillator 20 are installed in the housing part so that bubbles caught by the filter 18 can be separated in proper timing.
