Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a T-cell selector intended to select such cytotoxic T-cells with high tumor antigen specificity as to be used in cancer therapy. SOLUTION: This T-cell selector is made up of a 1st chamber packed with a base material coated with principal tissue-compatible antigen-expressing cells and a 2nd chamber packed with another base material coated with antigen- presenting cells. Using this selector, cytotoxic T-cells with high tumor antigen specificity can be selected.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to have high oxygen permeability and to obtain excellent water wettability of a surface by bringing a polymer contg. a monomer having a siloxanyl group as an essential polymn. component into contact with an inorg. acid soln of a specific concn. SOLUTION: An ocular lens polymer consists of a copolymer contg. the monomer having the siloxanyl group as the essential polymn. component. The siloxanyl group refers to a group having at least one Si-O-Si bond. A compd. having the siloxanyl group and a carbon-carbon unsatd. bond is usable as such a monomer having the siloxanyl group. The ocular lens polymer is brought into contact with the inorg. acid soln. of a concn. 5 to 100 wt.%. While the usable inorg. acid is not particularly limited, oxygen acid contg. sulfur atoms, oxygen acid contg. nitrogen atoms and oxygen acid contg. phosphor atoms, are adequate in terms of easy obtaining of a high reforming effect.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating material that can form a membrane layer of highly reduced liquid friction resistance and is useful as a ship bottom paint by admixing fine particles bearing fluorinated alkyl group and a specific binder thereto. SOLUTION: This coating material comprises (A) fine particles bearing fluorinated alkyl groups, (B) a binder comprising a fluorine-containing silane or its reaction product and (C), when necessary, a solvent. In a preferred embodiment, the formulation of the component A is 20-80 wt.% based on the total of the components A and B. The component A contains, as an essential component, a reaction product between (i) fluorine resin fine particles or (ii) inorganic fine particles, for example, silicon and (iii) a fluorine-containing silane. The component (iii) means a silane with a structure that a fluorine atom-bearing chemical species chemically bonds to the hydrolyzable silyl group directly bonding to a silicon atom (or its partially hydrolyzed condensate).

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject coating material having high water repellency and durability without peeling hydrophobic fine particles by mixing specific inorganic fine particles. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by carrying out hydrophobizing treatment of inorganic fine particles and mixing the resultant inorganic fine particles with a composition containing a polyvinylidene fluoride-based polymer. The inorganic fine particles having 10 nm to 50 μm average particle diameter, concretely silicon, titanium, aluminum, zirconium, etc., are preferably used as the inorganic fine particles. The hydrophobizing treatment is preferably conducted by using a silylating agent and fluorine and an alkyl group are preferably contained. A composition containing a polymeric substance such as a silicone-based polymer in addition to the polyvinylidene fluoride-based polymer is preferably used as the composition. The mixing ratio of the fine particles/the composition is preferably regulated to (50/50) to (98/2) ratio based on the weight.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce surface-treated inorg. fine particles which have a coupling agent, as the surface modifier, efficiently attached to their surfaces and hydrolyzable enough by treating the surfaces of inorg. fine particles with a mixed soln. essentially contg. a coupling agent, water, and an org. solvent and separating and recovering the particles. SOLUTION: 100 pts.wt. at least one kind of inorg. fine particles (A) selected from among fine particles of silicon, titanium, aluminum, zirconium, antimony, tin, and tungsten is subjected to surface treatment with a mixed soln. essentially contg. 1-300 pts.wt. coupling agent (B) (pref. a silane coupling agent or a silylating agent having a 4C or higher hydrocarbon group), water (C) in an amt. of 0.1-100 mol per mol of ingredient B, and 200-2,000 pts.wt. org. solvent (D) at room temp. to 130 deg.C. The particles after the treatment are separated and recovered from the soln. by distilling out water and the solvent or by a solid-liq. separation method.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating film composition, capable of making hydrophobic fine particles strongly sticking thereto, excellent in durability and having ultrahigh high water repellency. SOLUTION: This coating film comprises hydrophobic treated inorganic fine particles and a hydrophobic polymer containing a polyvinylidene fluoride- based polymer and contains at least 2 wt.% polyvinylidene fluoride-based polymer in the film. Unevennesses having 0.5-50 μm difference in height between protruding parts and recessed parts and 0.5-50 μm interval between the adjacent protruding parts are preferably formed on the surface and a water repellent film having >155 deg. static contact angle of water with the film surface is especially useful. Since waterdrops are rolled or the frictional resistance with water is reduced, the film can be utilized as an icing preventing coating film such as an antenna, a roof or a steel tower, a coating film for ship bottoms, a coating film for glass such as an automobile, a railway train or aircraft.
