Abstract: An antibacterial electret material which consists of a synthesized organic polymer having a volume resistivity of not less than 1013 .OMEGA.. cm and containing 0.01 to 2 % by weight of one kind of electret stabilizer selected from the group composed of a hindered amine compound, a nitrogen-containing hindered phenol compound, a metallic salt hindered phenol compound, a phenol compound, a sulfur compound and a phosphorus compound and 0.1 to 4 % by weight of metal ion-containing inorganic compound, and which has a surface density of charge of not less than 1 x 10-10 coulomb/cm2.
