    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve catalyst performances, by adding phosphorus and/or fluorine components to acid type zeolite containing rhenium and/or silver components as a catalyst in isomerizing dichlorotoluene in the presence of hydrogen. CONSTITUTION:A catalyst, obtained by adding (B) Re and/or Ag components to (A) an acid type substance of zeolite, especially mordenite type zeolite to improve deterioration in isomerization performances with time and further adding (C) P and/or F components to the catalyst to increase isomerization performances, simultaneously suppress side reaction and improve selectivity for isomerization reaction is used and an isomeric mixture of dichlorotoluene is brought into contact with the above-mentioned catalyst in the presence of hydrogen to efficiently isomerize the dichlorotoluene. Furthermore, the amounts of the added components (B) and (C) based on the total amount of the catalyst are preferably about 0.01-2.0wt.% Re, about 0.1-15wt.% Ag and 0.05-1wt.% P or F respectively expressed in terms of atoms.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide new zeolite in which titanium is highly dispersed in mordenite crystals and effective utilization of the zeolite as, e.g. a catalyst for hydroxylating hydrocarbons. CONSTITUTION:A titanium-containing aluminosilicate zeolite having a mordenite structure characterized in that (a) The aforementioned aluminosilicate zeolite is expressed by the formula (0.3-1.2)M2/nO:(10-42)SiO2:Al2O3:(0.01-2.0)TiO2 [M is one or more mono-or bifunctional cations; n denotes the valance]; (b) it exhibits an X-ray diffraction pattern of the mordenite structure and (c) absorption near 960cm is shown in an infrared absorption spectrum. Furthermore, a method for producing the above-mentioned aluminosilicate is provided.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To effectively isomerize the aimed compound advantageously without deterioration of catalytic activity with time, by bringing a mixture of dichlorotoluene isomers in the presence of hydrogen into contact with a catalyst prepared by combining a specific metallic compound with an acid type zeolite. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of dichlorotoluene isomers is brought into contact with a catalyst containing an acid type zeolite and a silver component in the presence of hydrogen usually at 200-500 deg.C, especially 250-450 deg.C to isomerize the aimed compound. Mordenite zeolite is especially preferable as the acid type zeolite. Silver, one of essential components of the catalyst, is introduced by ion exchange method, impregnation method, etc. and the amount of silver blended is about 0.1wt.%-about 15wt.%, especially about 0.2- about 10wt.% based on the total amounts of the catalyst. The amount of existing hydrogen is in the molar ratio to the raw material fed of >=10mol/mol->=0.003mol/mol. The aimed isomers are intermediates for drugs and agricultural chemicals.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To perform the title isomerization by bringing a dichlorotoluene isomer mixture into contact, in the presence of hydrogen, with a catalyst comprising the acid-type modification of boron- or iron-contg. zeolite and Re component and/or Ag component and pref. furthermore, F and/or P component(s). CONSTITUTION:The objective isomerization can be performed by bringing a dichlorotoluene isomer mixture into contact, in the presence of hydrogen at 250-450 deg.C, with a catalyst comprising (A) the acid-type modification of boron- or iron-contg. zeolite (pref. of mordenite type) and (B) Re component and/or Ag component. The boron or iron content of the component A is 0.05-1.0wt.%. The Re or Ag content of said catalyst is 0.05-1.0wt.%; the Re has been incorporated in the catalyst through impregnation or kneading, the Ag through ion exchange or impregnation technique. Said catalyst is pref. further incorporated with F and/or P component(s). With the present method, the isomerization can be made in high selectivity with side reactions inhibited.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To dewax efficiently a hydrocarbon fraction and to lower pour point, by bringing the hydrocarbon fraction in the presence of hydrogen into contact with a catalyst mainly composed of a mordenite type zeolite contg. a platinum metallic component and having a specified composition. CONSTITUTION:An aq. reaction mixture contg. a silica source such as silicic acid, an alumina source such as aluminum sulfate, an alkali soure such as caustic soda and a platinum metal source such as chloroplatinic acid is preped. so as to give a composition within the range of SiO2/Al2O3=9-50, OH /SiO2=0.1- 0.5 (OH being alkali source), H2O/SiO2=10-50 and M/SiO2=1X10 -1X10 (M is platinum metal source) in a molar ratio. The mixture is then reacted at 140-200 deg.C to crystallize it, thus obtaining a catalyst mainly composed of a mordenite type zeolite contg. a platinum metallic component. A hydrocarbon fraction such as gas oil is brought into contact with the catalyst in the presence of hydrogen to dewax it.
