    Abstract: In plasma-treating the inner surface of a plastic tube, the invention provides a treating method which ensures stable treatment under readily operative conditions. The present invention relates to a method comprising the steps of placing a plastic tube inside an electrically insulating tube wherein the difference between the inner diameter of the insulating tube and the outer diameter of the plastic tube is less than 2 mm, letting a gas into the plastic tube, keeping the inner pressures of both tubes at a reduced pressure, applying a high voltage across electrodes disposed outside the electrically insulating tube to initiate and sustain discharge inside the plastic tube and thus plasma-treating the inner surface of the plastic tube.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled molding by which blood can be preserved for a long time without lowering the functions of its components, by forming a specified crosslinked layer on at least part of the surface of a flexible vinyl chloride resin molding having a plasticizer. CONSTITUTION:A flexible vinyl chloride resin molding formed by mixing 100pts. wt. vinyl chloride resin with 30-110pts.wt. plasticizer [e.g., di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate] and, optionally, a stabilizer (e.g., Ca-Zn stabilizer), a lubricant (e.g., low-MW PE), etc., and molding the resulting mixture into a sheet, tube or the like is plasma-treated to form a crosslinked layer which shows the following results of ESCA analysis: ratios between the numbers of atoms (C, O, Cl and N), 0.10 and a thickness of 1,000Angstrom -1.5mum.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To impart good heat sealability and adhesiveness to a polymeric resin, especially, a fluorocarbon resin molding, by exposing the surface of the polymeric resin to a specified discharge in a gas atmosphere containing a specified paraffinic hydrocarbon. CONSTITUTION:In modifying the surface of a polymeric resin, this surface is exposed to a discharge which is generated and maintained by application of a high voltage and does not form any plasma polymer in a gas atmosphere containing a gas of a compound of CnH2n+2 (wherein n is 1-8). Although said polymeric resin may be any polymeric resin, a fluorocarbon resin is desirable from its marked modification effect. Although said polymeric resin may take any form such as a block, a plate, a sheet, a film, a rod or a tube, it is desirably a film.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:A flexible PVC molding low in plasticizer bleeding, excellent in gas permeability and suitable in the production of tubes for medical use or the like, prepared by using a chlorinated polyolefin as a plasticizer and crosslinking the surface layer by a low-temperature plasma treatment or the like. CONSTITUTION:A flexible vinyl chloride resin is produced by using, as a plasticizer, a chlorinated polyolefin (e.g., chlorinated polyethylene) having a chlorination degree of preferably 10-60%. Then this vinyl chloride resin is formed into a molding such as a tube or a sheet. The surface layer of the polyvinyl chloride molding is dechlorinated by a low-temperature plasma treatment or the like, and crosslinked two prevent bleeding of additives. The chlorinated polyolefin contributes to crosslinking of the surface layer and at the same time the chlorinated polyolefin has excellent gas permeability, so that the obtained molding is low in bleeding of plasticizer and excellent in gas permeability.
