Abstract: PURPOSE:To suppress the impact vibration at the time of hitting a ball by constituting at least a part of a frame part, a shaft part and a grip part of the racket, of a fiber reinforced composite material in which an inorganic fiber containing a polyvinyl alcohol fiber is used as a reinforcing material. CONSTITUTION:In the racket consisting of a fiber reinforced composite material, at least a part of a frame part, a shaft part and a grip part of the racket concerned is constituted of a fiber reinforced composite material in which an inorganic fiber (for instance, a glass fiber) containing a polyvinyl alcohol fiber is used as a reinforcing material. The polyvinyl alcohol fiber in that case is allowed to have tensile strength of at least 15g/d and tensile elastic modulus of at least 200g/d. It is desirable that a vibration loss of this racket is >=0.01. According to the racket of this constitution, a fact that the impact vibration at the time of hitting a ball is transmitted from a gut to a frame, a shaft and a grip is attenuated satisfactorily.
