Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject fiber, composed of polyacrylic acid and PVA in a specific proportion, excellent in removal of malodor such as ammonia or amines and useful as sanitary materials, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective fiber is composed of polyacrylic acid and PVA at (1/99)-(95/5), preferably (1/99)-(70/30) weight ratio of the aforementioned polyacrylic acid to PVA. The above-mentioned fiber has >=70, preferably >=80 deodorizing index and further >=3g/d tensile strength and >=30% water retention ratio.
