Abstract: PURPOSE:The titled adhesive capable of being bonded to strongly a metal without primer coating, having improvd water resistance, comprising a polyester amide consisting of an ester made of benzenedicarboxylic acid, etc. as a main ingredient and an amide made of dodecanamide, etc. in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:The desired adhesive comprising a polyester amide (preferably relative viscosity 1.25-3.0 and melting point not higher than 210 deg.C) consisting of (A) 5-80wt% ester unit made of benzenedicarboxylic acid (preferably butylene terephthalate and/or butylene isophthalate) and 1,4-butanediol as a main ingredients and (B) 95-20wt% amide unit consisting of dodecanamide and/or undecanamide (preferably 12-aminododecanoic acid and/or 11-aminoundecanoic acid, and their amide forming derivatives shown by the formulas I and II.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a novel polyester-amide having improved mechanical strength, impact resistance, transparency, softness, oil resistance, water resistance, adhesive property, flexibility, etc., by copolymerizing ester units with amide units each having a specific structure in a specific proportion. CONSTITUTION:A polyester having an average polymerization degree of 3-8 and ester units expressed by formula I and/or II is copolymerized with a nylon salt consisting of formula III (m is an integer 6-12) anf formula IV (n is an integer 6-10) or an aromatic dicarboxylic acid under vacuum at 200-270 deg.C to give the aimed polyester-amide having (A) the ester units expressed by formula I and/or II and (B) amide units expressed by formula V (R is formula VI or monocyclic aromatic nucleus) at a weight ratio between the units (A) and (B) of 20:80-95:/5. USE:Useful for a molded article, e.g. a fiber or film, a hot-melt adhesive for metal, fiber, plastic or wood, a solution adhesive, a coating material, etc.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a polyester amide having a high degree of polymn. and outstanding performance, consisting of butylene tere (or iso) phthalate unit and dodecanamide unit and/or undecanamide unit. CONSTITUTION:An arom. dicarboxylic acid (A) consisting of terephthalic acid and/or isophthalic acid is reacted with 1,4-butanediol (B) in an amount of 1.05- 2.0-fold moles of the component (A) and 12-aminododecanoic acid and/or 11-aminoundecanoic acid (C) in the presence of an esterification catalyst at a temp. of 150- 260 deg.C. Then the reaction mixt. is subjected to polycondensation at a temp. of 200- 270 deg.C and at a reduced pressure of 10mm.Hg or below to obtain the desired polyester amide consisting of 20-95wt% butylene terephthalate unit and/or butylene isophthalate unit and 80-5wt% dodecanamide unit and/or undecanamide unit, which is transparent when it is molten and whose melting point is several degrees-20 C higher than that of a conventional product.

CONSTITUTION:The title adhesive composed of a polyether-ester copolymer having an intrinsic viscosity (25 deg.C) of 0.5-1.5 measured in o-chlorophenol, is prepared by (IX) carrying out the ester exchange reaction of (A) 1 mole of dicarboxylic acids (or their ester-forming derivatives) wherein the acid component is composed of 70-40% of terephtalic acid and 30-60% of isophthalic acid, (B) 1.1-20 moles of 1,4-butanediol, and (C) 1-10 wt% of a poly(alkyleneoxide) glycol having a number average molecular weight of 300-6000, in the presence of an esterification catalyst, at 150-260 deg.C under atmospheric pressure, and then (II) polymerizing the product at 200-270 deg.C under a reduced pressure of

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the titled copolymer compsn. with improved resistance to thermal degradation and hydrolysis, prepared by adding a glycidyl ester compd. to a polyether-ester block copolymer. CONSTITUTION:The compsn. is prepared by adding 0.01-20wt% glycidyl ester compd. of the formula (where R is 1-30C n-valent hydrocarbon group; n is 1-6) to a polyether-ester block copolymer which consists of 15-90wt% polyester hard segment and 85-10wt% polyether soft segment with a number average molecular weight of 200-6,000. The addition of heat stabilizer improves further the resistance to thermal degradation of the compsn. When hindered phenol and thioether compd. and/or thiophosphite compd. are used as heat stabilizer, the compsn. shows excellent resitance to thermal degradation without coloration.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester elastomer molding which is free of fin formation, and also is improved in fluidity, crystallization rate, molding cycle shortening, and releasing property, by adding a specific ester compound to a specific polyether-ester copolymer. CONSTITUTION:One hundred pts.wt. a polyether-ester copolymer (A), containing as requisite components terephthalic acid, 1,4-butanediol, and polyoxyalkylene glycol (5-80wt%), is mixed with 0.1-20pts.wt. a low-molecular ester compound (B), containing as requisite components terephthalic acid and 1,4-butanediol. Thus, a molding which is good in softening property, elastic recovery, and high- temperature characteristics and also is improved in fluidity, crystallization rate, the shortening of molding cycle, and releasing property, as well as free of the formation of fins, can be obtained.
