    Abstract: Provided is a polyether-ester-amide consisting essentially of about 5 to 50 weight percent of polyamide segment (A) and about 95 to 50 weight percent of polyether ester segment (B), and having a melting point not lower than 160° C, a Shore hardness in the range of 80A to 45 D, a tensile modulus in the range of 100 to 1,000 kg/cm 2 and an elastic recovery at 50 % elongation of not less than 70%, said polyamide segment (A) having been obtained from:a C 6 -C 20 aliphatic diamine (A-1 and at least one dicarboxylic acid (A-2) selected from the group consisting of C 6 -C 15 aliphatic dicarboxylic acids, terephthalic acid and hexahydroterephthalic acid, provided the total number of carbon atoms of said diamine and said dicarboxylic acid is not less than 16, said polyether ester segment (B) having been obtained from:a poly(alkylene oxide) glycol (B-1) having a ratio of carbon atoms number to oxygen atom number of not smaller than 2.3 and having a number average molecular weight in the range of 300 to 5.000; anda C 4 -C 20 dicarboxylic acid (B-2).

    Abstract: PURPOSE:Polybutylene terephthalate is incorporated with an acrylonitrilebutadiene or syrene-butadiene copolymer bearing carboxyl groups to produce polyester resin compositions with improved impact strength. CONSTITUTION:To 100 parts by wt of a polyester resin of polybutylene terephthalate are incorporated 5-50 parts of an acrylonitrile-butadiene (ANB) or styrene- butadiene (SB) copolymer bearing carboxyl groups. The polybutylene terephthalate is prepared from terephthalic acid and 1,4-butanediol or their corresponding derivatives and has 0.5 or more intrinsic viscosity, preferably 0.65-20. The ANB or SB employed is a terpolymer from a acrylontrile or styrene, butadiene and, as the third component, a copolymerizable monomer with carboxyl groups as side chain.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled high-polymerization degree, color-free polymer by mixing an aminocarboxylic acid, a poly(alkylene oxide) glycol, and a dicarboxylic acid at a specified ratio and, after heating, polymerizing the mixture under high vacuum at a specified temperature. CONSTITUTION:A high-polymerization degree, color-free polyether-ester-amide is produced by mixing (A) a 10 C or higher aminocarboxylic acid, e.g., 11-aminoundecanoic acid or 12-aminododecanoic acid, (B) a poly(alkylene oxide) glycol, number-average MW 300-6,000, e.g., poly(tetramerhylene oxide) glycol, number average MW 300-6,000, e.g., poly(tetramethylene oxide) glycol, and (C) a 4-20 C carboxylic acid, e.g., terephthalic acid or dodecanedioic acid, so that component B accounts for 5-90wt% of the total mixture and the carboxyl groups, amino groups and hydroxyl groups of components A, B and C are present in amounts to provide a ratio of the formula and after heating to 150- 260 deg.C, polymerizing the mixture under high vacuum at 220-280 deg.C.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the titled adhesive having excellent adhesive force, water resistance, etc., consisting of a polyester amide which is composed of an ester component comprising butylene terephthalate and a specified amide component and contains each component in a specified range. CONSTITUTION:A polyester amide is composed of an ester component (A) consisting of butylene terephthalate and/or butylene isophthalate unit and an amide component (B) consisting of dodecanamide and/or undecanamide unit. In a triangle with the apexes of polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), polybutylene isophthalate (PBI), and polydodecanamide (N-12) or polyundecanamide (N-11), the amount of each component is so adjusted that the composition of each component falls within the range surrounded by ABCDEF of the diagram for the poluester amide copolymer, whereby there can be obtd. the polyester amide suitable for use as a hot-melt adhesive for fibers.
