Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformize the blood flow introduced in a blood treatment device and to prevent a channeling of the blood flow and blood residue by connecting a header engagement part engaged with a header of the blood treatment device to a blood tube holding part holding the blood tube some intervals apart by substantially embracing. SOLUTION: This blood tube connecting assist tool 1 is provided with a header engagement part 2 engaged with a header of a blood treatment device and a blood tube holding part 3 holding the blood tube, which is detachably connected to a blood introduction part of the header of the blood treatment device, by substantially embracing. Four connecting parts 4 for connecting the header engagement part 2 to the blood tube holding part 3 in such a relation that the bottom face of the header engagement 2 and the top face of the blood tube holding part 3 are positioned substantially apart by a prescribed interval on the vertical direction are provided. The blood tube connecting assist tool 1 has such a structure as vertically divided into two at the mating face 5 and the two-divided structure is freely integrated/divided by the engagement means.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a membrane provided with hydrophilic property, free from the elution of a water-soluble polymer and excellent in contamination resistance such as resistance to the sticking of blood platelets by dipping a membrane in a polyalkylene glycol solution in a specified temperature range or bringing the membrane into contact with the solution and irradiating the membrane. SOLUTION: A membrane is dipped in or brought into contact with a polyalkylene glycol solution and then irradiated with radiation such as γ-rays or electron beams. Since unevenness in adsorption is liable to occur when the temperature of the solution is high, the solution is cooled to 0-18 deg.C, preferably 4-10 deg.C to lower the adsorbability of the polyalkylene glycol to the membrane. This method is particularly applicable to the membrane using a polymethacrylate resin, polysulfone resin, polyacrylonitrile, polyamide or cellulosic resin. The amount of the polyalkylene glycol eluted from the membrane can be reduced by setting the concentration of dissolved oxygen in the solution at

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the leakage of the useful materials dissolved in liquid to a min. level and to enable the removal if the materials having the mol.wt. large than the mol.wt. of these useful materials by combining separating membranes having specific sieving coeffts. varying with respect to the useful materials. SOLUTION: The ratios of the areas of the membranes of the different sieving coeffts. constituting a blood purifying device vary by judgment of to what extent a patient is able to withstand albumin which is the useful material or whether the patient is replenished with albumin pharmaceuticals or not. In general, the sieving coefft. is preferably set at 0.01 to 0.03 in order to attain a medical treatment effect and to minimized the side-effect by the loss of the albumin. In a method for setting the sieving coeff. of albumin in such range, the respective hollow fiber membrane are mixed at a ratio at which the area of the membrane having the sieving coefft. of 0.5 to 1 of the albumin is =0 to

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood port and a blood processing device using the blood port which can prevent blood from staying in the blood port by making the radius of a fillet in the crossing line of the inside of a blood intake and the blood port shorter than a prescribed dimensions, and which can reduce the possibility of activation of coagulation factors and heunopexis due to the staying blood and the possibility of generation of hollow fibers which stop blood flow. SOLUTION: In this blood port 1 with a blood intake 3, the radius R of a fillet attached in the crossing line of the inner surface ' of the blood intake 3 and the inner surface γ of the blood port 1 is to be shorter than 4mm. The blood processing device has this blood port 1. A bundle of hollow fibers is fixed at the housing of the blood processing device, and the blood port 1 with the blood intake 3 is attached on the surface α of the edge of the bundle of hollow fibers.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain good anticoagulant properties without using a polymeric coating film by housing hollow fiber bundles in a main body case and opening one ends thereof to fix them to a partition wall and specifying the inner surface roughness of a pair of the headers respectively mounted on both end parts of the main body case. SOLUTION: In a hollow fiber module 1, as a material of a cylindrical main body case 5 and headers 2, a hard resin, for example, polycarbonate is used. As the material of the hollow fibers 4 packed in the cylindrical main body case 5, for example, polysulfone is used. Further, as the material of the partition wall 3 supporting the hollow fibers 4 in the cylindrical main body case 5, a thermosetting resin such as polyurethane or the like is used. By setting the inner surface roughness of the headers 2 to 0.8 μm Rmax or less, excellent anticoagulant properties are applied. When the angle formed by the inner ceiling surface of each header 2 and the partition wall 3 is set to θ, this angle θsatisfies 4 deg.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dialyzer for a blood processing, wherein the elution of a hydrophilic polymer is reduced, and which is lightweight and excellent in usability, and a semipermeable membrane for the blood processing which is suitable for the dialyzer for the blood processing. SOLUTION: (1) In this diffusion shell which contains a hydrophobic polymer and a hydrophilic polymer as the constituent components, the post-drying water- permeable performance to the pre-drying waterpermeable performance of the semipermeable membrane is 1/2 or higher. Also, the elution amount of the hydrophilic polymer from the semipermeable membrane is 10 ppm or lower for this semipermeable membrane for a blood processing. (2) The semipermeable membrane for the blood processing under paragraph (1) is used for this dialyzer for the blood processing.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to use the module for hemodialysis, blood filtration, hemodialysis filtration and plasma sepn. as a high-performance and/or small-sized module for blood treatment by composing this module of a high polymer which is made hydrophilic and using hollow fiber membrane having an average bore within a prescribed range. SOLUTION: This module for blood treatment is composed of the high polymer which is made hydrophilic and is usually constituted by inserting the bundle of hollow fibers into a cylindrical plastic case, sealing both ends of the hollow fibers with a resin and providing this case with ports for an inlet and outlet so as to pass the blood to the inside of the hollow fibers and a dialyzate, raw diet and filter water to the outside thereof. The bore of the hollow fibers refers to the diameter of the surface of the effective parts in contact with the blood and the average value is adopted as its representative value. The dialysis efficiency is better as the bore is smaller, but if the bore is too small, a pressure drop increases and the actual use is no longer possible or the blood coagulates, leading to the closure of the hollow fibers. The bore of the hollow fibers is consequently required to be >=50μm and to be
