    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive body high in sensitivity and superior in stability against repeated uses by incorporating a specified compound as an electric charge transfer material in a photosensitive layer containing a charge generating material and charge transfer material. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer contains the charge generating and the charge transfer material represented by formula I in which R is optionally substituted alkyl, such aralkyl, or such aryl, and Ar is H, or same as R, thus permitting the obtained photosensitive body to be high in sensitivity and superior in stability against repeated uses.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain the subject solution having excellent storage stability and high viscosity independent of the kind of monomer by adding a specific aromatic or aliphatic dicarboxylic acid anhydride or a specific acid anhydride. CONSTITUTION: An aromatic or aliphatic dicarboxylic acid anhydride of formula I [Ar1 is an (un)substituted aryl, a naphthyl or an aliphatic ring] or an acid anhydride of formula II [Ar2 and Ar3 are each an (un)substituted aryl, a naphthyl or an alkyl] (e.g. phthalic anhydride) is added in the production of a polyamic acid having a viscosity of >=100Ps (measured in 1mL of N-methyl-2- pyrrolidone at 25 deg.C) by reacting (A) a tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride (e.g. 3,3',4,4'-benzophenonetetracarboxylic acid) with (B) a diamine (e.g. 4,4'- diaminodiphenyl ether) in (C) an organic polar solvent (e.g. N-methyl-2- pyrrolidone). The reaction is preferably carried out at >=50 deg.C.

CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive layer contg. an electric charge generating material and an electric charge transferring material is formed and at least one kind of compd. represented by formula I is incorporated as the electric charge transferring material. In the formula I, R is alkyl, aralkyl, etc., R is H, alkyl, etc., and R is aryl. Various olefin synthesis reactions can be utilized as a method for synthesizing the compd. represented by the formula I but reductive dimerization of a carbonyl compd. is simplest. An electrophotographic sensitive body having high sensitivity and superior stability to repeated use is obtd.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide the liquid crystal orientation film which can be easily manufactured with no fear of impairing other elementary material, and can be concurrently used with plastics low in heat resistance and the like, and also enables various excellent characteristics to be obtained, which are such as a liquid crystal orientation capacity, heat resistance, transparency, strength, adhesion to a substrate and the like by containing polymers which comprise both a repeatable polyurea structural unit and a repeatable polyimide structural unit included in a same molucule. CONSTITUTION: Polymers are contained, which comprise both a repeatable polyurea structural units and a repeatable polyimide structural units included in a same molecule. Practically, the polymers comprise both the repeatable structural unit represented by a formula I, and the repeatable structural unit represented by a formula II included in a same molecule. In the formula I, R represents an organic group of a divalent element or a single bonding, and R represents an organic group of a divalent element. In the formula II, R represents an organic group of a four valent element, and R represents an organic group of a divalent element. The polymers thus obtained are soluble in an appropriate composition, an orientation film excellent in various characteristics can thereby be obtained by dissolving the polymers in an appropriate solvent, coating solution obtained over the surface of a substrate, and drying it thereafter.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a high sensitivity and to improve the stability to repetitive use by incorporating titanyl phthalocyanine as a charge generating material into a photosensitive layer and incorporating specific compds. as a charge transfer material therein. CONSTITUTION:The titanyl phthalocyanine which exhibits strong diffraction peaks at Bragg angles (2theta+ or -0.2 deg.) 9.7 deg., 15.0 deg., 24.2 deg., and 27.3 deg. in powder X-ray diffraction spectral using CuKalpha rays is incorporated as the charge generating material into the photosensitive layer and at least one kind of the compds. expressed by formula I are incorporated as the charge transfer material into the photosensitive layer. In the formula I, R denotes an alkyl group, aralkyl group, aryl group, etc.; R denotes a group selected from a hydrogen atom, alkyl group and aralkyl group; R denotes an aryl group which may have a substituent. The high sensitivity is obtd. and the stability to the repetitive use is improved in this way.
