    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a stretched polypropylene film excellent in steam barrier property and moldability by a method in which a polypropylene is mixed with a petroleum resin or terpene resin containing no polar groups so as to condition its glass transition temperature to 10-80 deg.C. CONSTITUTION:A resin prepared by mixing 95-77wt% polypropylene with a petroleum resin (hydrogenated alicyclic petroleum resin, etc.) or terpene resin (hydrogenated beta-pinene, hydrogenated diterpene, etc.) containing no polar groups such as hydroxide group, carboxyl group, etc., is extruded into a film. The film is further subjected to a stretching process so as to condition its glass transition temperature Tg to 10-80 deg.C. When polypropylene is mixed with 5wt% or more petroleum resin or terpene resin, Tg becomes 10 deg.C or higher and the steam barrier property is raised. Also, when polypropylene is mixed with 23wt% or less petroleum resin or terpene resin, Tg becomes 80 deg.C or lower and the moldability is raised. The polypropylene film may be formed to a laminate structure by providing the films on both sides.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a strong porous film, by a method wherein a polypropylene (I) and a polypropylene (II) having an intrinsic viscosity lower than that of the polypropylene (I) are supplied to different extruders, and joiningly laminated so that the outside periphery of the cross section of the former is covered by the latter, and the laminate is extruded into the form of a sheet, which is cast and stretched. CONSTITUTION:A polypropylene (I) 1 and a polypropylene (II) 2 having an intrinsic viscosity lower than that of the polypropylene (I) 1 are respectively supplied to the different extruders, are joiningly laminated so that the outside periphery of the cross section of the former (I) 1 is covered by the latter (II) 2, and the laminate is extruded through a mouthpiece into the form of a sheet, followed by casting the sheet and stretching the cast sheet. Accordingly, a strong porous film can be obtained which has a thickness of at least 40mum and extremely minute through-type cells with an average cell diameter of 0.01-0.20mum.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:A plastic film, having improved antistatic and heat-sealing properties at the same time, and prepared by arranging two parts where the shape factor of waterdrops has specific values on wetting the surface of the film by the steam droplet method in the form of stripes on the surface thereof. CONSTITUTION:A film in which a part A where the shape factor of waterdrops is 55X10 -80X10 and a part B where the shape factor of waterdrops is 40X10 or less on wetting by the steam droplet method are arranged in the form of stripes on the same film surface. The part B having the shape factor of 40X10 or less imparts the antistatic properties and the part A having the shape factor described above imparts characteristics such as heat-sealing properties to the film.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a microporous film, having high porosity and suitable for moisture-permeable and waterproofing uses, etc., by blending a polyolefin with specific amounts of an inorganic material and beta-nucleating agent, melt extruding the resultant blend at a specific temperature and drawing the resultant extrudate. CONSTITUTION:(A) 100pts.wt. polyolefin, e.g. polypropylene, etc., is blended and mixed with (B) 10-400pts.wt., preferably 20-200pts.wt. inorganic material, e.g. diatomaceous earth, etc., and (C) 0.001-10pts.wt., preferably 0.002-5pts.wt. beta-nucleating agent, e.g. quinacridone, etc., and the resultant blend is then melt extruded at a temperature of >=the melting point (Tm) of the polyolefin+20 deg.C - =Tmc-50 deg.C and biaxially drawn to afford the aimed microporous film having 30-80% porosity.
