    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a sheet substantially free from coating defects such as streaks and excellent in the uniformity of the coating weight of resin by applying a liquid resin to a release paper and smoothening the coated surface by applying pressure thereto while the resin is still in a plastic state. CONSTITUTION:A resin (e.g. epoxy resin) is applied to a release paper with, e.g. a reverse roll coater, and the coated surface and the release paper are pressed with, e.g. a press roll to remove coating defects such as streaks. The pressure applied then is such that it is sufficient to remove coating defects but does not cause any change in the thickness of coating. This smoothening needs to be performed while the resin is still in a plastic state. If required, the coated release paper is preheated with, e.g. a heating plate. After the smoothening, the coated release paper is cooled to 30 deg.C or below with, e.g. a cooling plate. As shown in the figure, the coated surface 2 of the resin-coated sheet and the release paper 5 are pressed with heating and pressing rolls composed of rolls 3 and 4. A release paper 6 is inserted between the coated surface 2 and the roll 3 so as to prevent the adhesion of the resin to the roll 3.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a slip by a method wherein after the surface of a pipe formed of uncured thermal curable resin prepreg is coated with an antibacterial agent, thermal curable resin is cured and treated, a specified difference in level is formed in the longitudinal direction of a pipe surface. SOLUTION: A substance wherein two one-way prepregs formed of reinforcing fibers and epoxy resin are laminated such that prepreg fiber directions are extended at right angles with each other is wound around a mandrel made of iron three times. Further, the surface of prepreg formed of thermal curable resin wound around the mandrel formed of iron is spray-coated with an anti-bacterial water solution and after a tape is wound therearound and placed in a curing furnace to effect curing, the tape is removed. A handrail having 10-700 μm differences in level formed in the longitudinal direction of a pipe surface at internals of a distance of 1-50 mm is molded. This constitution reduces the generation of cold and static electricity without mounting a cover, and simply manufactures a handrail having anti-bacterial operation.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a core for spun yarn having favorable strength and light weight to be sufficiently suitable for a high speed spinning machine with which power cost can be reduced, with which a winding number can be increased, and with which productivity can be improved largely, and a manufacturing method thereof. CONSTITUTION:For a core for spun yarn having spiral irregularities formed by wrapping tape used in moulding in a surface of a cone main body of FRP, prepreg sheet of reinforcement fibers is wound around a conical core metal. The wrapping tape, having heat shrinkage property, is then wound around it, overlapping each other. It is heated while applying tightening force by heat shrinkage of the wrapping tape to be moulded, the core metal is removed, the wrapping tape is removed, and a removal mark of the wrapping tape are used for a stopping surface of the spun yarn.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automate each process and to continuously produce a mixture of powder and liquid with high productivity by feeding powder and liquid from a cylindrical double pipe and mixing them by a roll mill. SOLUTION: Liquid and powder are fed into a cylindrical double pipe 1 from a tank 2 and a hopper 4 by a gear pump 4 and a powder feeder 5 respectively, and a situation in which the powder is surrounded by the liquid so that the powder may not be scattered is made to develop. A mixture of the powder and the liquid is fed onto a first roll 6 of a three-roll mill. After the mixture is uniformly mixed by the first roll 6, a second roll 7, and a third roll 8, it is scraped off by a plate 9. In this way, the weighing, the supply and the discharge of raw material are made continuous and automated to produce a mixture of powder and liquid with high productivity.

CONSTITUTION: The method for manufacturing a prepreg comprises the steps of mixing material resin by using a stationary mixer 4, supplying the mixed resin to the applicator roll 9 of a reverse roll coater, coating release sheet 2 conveyed on the coating roll 3 of the coater with it, superposing the sheets 12 coated with the mixed resin on both surfaces of a reinforcing fiber material at the resin coating surface, heating, and pressuring it to transfer the mixed resin on the sheet 2 to the material to be impregnated.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a joined carbon fiber bundle excellent in working efficiency and product yield in processing it to a fabric or a prepreg, or cutting to short fibers by intertwining both of the fiber bundles at the overlapping part of both end parts of the plural carbon fiber bundles without a melt-adhesion. CONSTITUTION: This method of joining carbon fiber bundles comprises joining both of the carbon fiber bundles by piling both end parts of the plural carbon fiber bundles and intertwining the overlapped part with a high speed fluid treatment, etc. The joined bundles are excellent in the properties of passing through processes such as introducing the fiber bundle from a bobbin or setting to various guides and rollers.
