    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce efficiently hydrocarbon oil having excellent low-temperature flow characteristics, by bringing a hydrocarbon fraction having a boiling range of 200-600 deg.C into contact with a catalyst contg. zeolite, alumina and a metallic component in a hydrogen atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:A catalyst contg. zeolite (A) which exhibits an X-ray diffraction pattern of Table 1 in the alkali type of the formula (wherein M is an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal; n is the valence of M; X is 15-60; Y is 0-25) and has a mesitylene adsorption (JIS-K-1412) of 16wt% or above in the acid type, alumina (B) (pref. gamma- or eta-alumina) and at least one metallic compd. (C) selected from among compds. of Group VIb and VIII metals (e.g. CoO, MoO2 and WO3) (the weight ratio of A to B is 10/1-1/10, the quantity of component C is 10-40wt% based on that of component B) is used. When said catalyst is used, hydrocarbon fraction can be dewaxed and desulfurized at a relatively low temp. stably over a long period of time to obtain hydrocarbon oil having low-temperature flow characteristics in high yields.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To carry out the reforming of a hydrocarbon fraction having a boiling point within a specific range, in high efficiency, suppressing the increase in the reaction temperature, by subjecting the fraction to the catalytic dewaxing in hydrogen atmosphere and to the hydrodesulfurization, contacting the reaction product with water, recovering the gas, and recycling the gas to the catalytic dewaxing process. CONSTITUTION:A hydrocarbon fraction having a boiling point of 200-600 deg.C is passed through the feed line 1, mixed with circulating hydrogen gas in the line 1, heated in the furnace 2, and introduced into the reactor 3. The gas is made to contact first with the dewaxing catalyst layer 4 and then to the desulfurization catalyst layer 5. Water is supplied through the line 6 to the whole reaction product at the outlet of the reactor 3, and the mixture is separated by the liquid-gas separation layer into the light gas rich in hydrogen, a liquid product, and water. The liquid product is supplied through the line 13 to the fractionating column, and water is discharged from the system through the line 8. A part of the light gas rich in hydrogen is extracted from the line 12, dehydrated in the dehydrator 9, passed through the line 10, mixed with high-purity hydrogen gas supplied through the line 11, and recycled to the line 1 at the inlet of the furnace 2.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent tackiness from occuring between a film and a roll and flaws from generating on the film surface by stretching the film with a hot stretching roll having satinized projections on the surface. CONSTITUTION:Satinized projections are formed on the surface of a ceramic coated roll. These projections are prepared by a method wherein satinized projections are formed by metal previously on the surface of the metallic roll, ceramic coat is applied to this surface or not only ceramic coat but ceramic projections are formed on the surface of the metallic roll without projections. The density of the satinized projections on the roll surface is 100-600 pieces per cm and the contact surface percentage of the polyester film with the roll (polyester film contacts only with projection surfaces) is 10-45%. In this manner, defects on the film surface due to ununiform tackiness of the film to the roll caused in the stretching process, ununiform lateral-stepped tackiness and film surface flaws can be prevented.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To dewax efficiently a hydrocarbon fraction and to lower pour point, by bringing the hydrocarbon fraction in the presence of hydrogen into contact with a catalyst mainly composed of a mordenite type zeolite contg. a platinum metallic component and having a specified composition. CONSTITUTION:An aq. reaction mixture contg. a silica source such as silicic acid, an alumina source such as aluminum sulfate, an alkali soure such as caustic soda and a platinum metal source such as chloroplatinic acid is preped. so as to give a composition within the range of SiO2/Al2O3=9-50, OH /SiO2=0.1- 0.5 (OH being alkali source), H2O/SiO2=10-50 and M/SiO2=1X10 -1X10 (M is platinum metal source) in a molar ratio. The mixture is then reacted at 140-200 deg.C to crystallize it, thus obtaining a catalyst mainly composed of a mordenite type zeolite contg. a platinum metallic component. A hydrocarbon fraction such as gas oil is brought into contact with the catalyst in the presence of hydrogen to dewax it.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To smoothly transfer a resin sheet at a temperature higher than its softening point without unevenness in thickness, by transferring the sheet while bringing it into contact with rotary rolls at least one of which is provided with an elastic layer having Shore hardness of 45-95 deg. and a surface layer made of an untacky substance. CONSTITUTION:Molten resin is extruded from a die 1 and formed by rotary rolls 2-6. In this case, 2 is a roll having a multi-layered structure, while 3-6 are metallic rolls. The resin fed between the rolls has a temperature higher than its softening point. A space between the rolls 2 and 3 is controllable. The rolls 3-6 are the metallic rolls through which liquid can be carried. Each roll is drived with a proper speed ratio. The roll 2 is provided with a layer 2 composed of an elastic material having Shore hardness of 45-95 and a surface layer 3 composed of an untacky substance. Accordingly, a smooth sheet can be transferred under good stripping condition without generation of unevenness in thickness of the sheet.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prolong the life of filter medium while increasing filtration precision by filtering thermoplastic polymer contg. granules having two or more kinds of average diameter with the filter medium constituted of two or more kinds of filter layer wherein the average pore diameter is regulated to 2-6 times of average diameter of said granules by measurement due to image treating method. CONSTITUTION:In case of filtering thermoplastic polymer contg. granules having two or more kinds of average diameter through a filter medium 21, respective filter layers 19, 20 constituted to multilayer are preset to average pore diameter of 2-6 times of average diameter of said granules in accordance with the average diameter of granules contained in said polymer. As a result, since the granules different in average diameter are caught in order with respective filter layers 19, 20, the life of whole filter mediums is remarkably prolonged in comparison with single layer filtration. Still more, since the average pore diameter of the filter medium is accurately measured by image treating method and the range of optimum average pore diameter is grasped by the test, the prolongation effect of life of the filter medium is fully exhibited.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To dewax efficiently a hydrocarbon fraction and to lower pour point, by bringing the hydrocarbon fraction in the presence of hydrogen into contact with a catalyst composed of a mixture of a mordenite type zeolite and a specified pentacil type zeolite. CONSTITUTION:A mordenite type zeolite is uniformly mixed with a pentacil type zeolite having an X-ray diffraction pattern (S being intense, VS being very intense, M being medium intense) shown in Table. The monovalent alkali metal ion of the resulting zeolite mixture powder is subjected to an ion exchange treatment with hydrogen ion or ammonium ion to thereby convert it into an acid type. Pref. further a binder such as alumina sol is added thereto and the mixture is shaped into a particle having the desired size, dried and calcined to obtain a catalyst. A hydrocarbon fraction such as gas oil or kerosene is brought into contact with the catalyst in the presence of hydrogen at 200-500 deg.C to dewax it.
