Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amt. of sludge generated from a waste water treatment equipment in a method for reducing the vol. of excessive sludge by utilizing microorganisms by subjecting sludge to aerobic treatment and subsequently subjecting the same to anaerobic treatment to reduce the amt. of generated sludge with high efficiency. SOLUTION: Excessive sludge is treated with alkali supplied from an alkali supply device 5 to be supplied to a sludge aerobic treatment tank 1 from an excessive sludge inflow port 7. In the sludge aerobic treatment tank 1, temp. is regulated by a temp. regulator 4 and stirring is performed by a stirrer 6 and oxygen is supplied by an oxygen-containing gas supply device 3 and sludge is aerobically treated. The aerobically treated sludge is discharged from a sludge aerobically treated water discharge port 8 and sent to a sludge anaerobic treatment tank 2 from a sludge aerobically treated water inflow port 9. In the sludge anaerobic treatment tank 2, temp. is regulated by a temp. regulator 4 and stirring is performed by a stirrer 6. The sludge subjected to anaerobic treatment is discharged from a sludge anaerobically treated water discharge port 10. By this constitution, excessive sludge can be reduced.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decompose organic substances efficiently in a compact treatment tank by bio-treating wastewater by adding a nucleic acid base or using microorganisms secreting the nucleic acid base. SOLUTION: By adding a nucleic acid base to a pre-treatment tank capable of aerobic treatment before organic wastewater of high concentration or of large concentration change being supplied to an activated sludge tank, or by using microorganisms secreting the nucleic acid base, the propagation of microorganisms related to the purification of wastewater is accelerated remarkably to be able to respond promptly to good load reducing effects and the change of concentration with a compact tank. Guanine, adenine, thymine, cytosine, uracil, hypoxanthine, etc. are used as the nucleic acid base. Microorganisms which secrete the nucleic acid bases can be maintained when nutrition sources exist in wastewater before bio-treatment, or by adding a small amount of nutrition sources to wastewater when no nutrition source exists in wastewater. In this way, organic substances can be decomposed efficiently to enable wastewater treatment with a compact treatment tank.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drastically lessen the disturbance of a hollow yarn membrane bundle formed by bending many porous hollow yarn membranes to a U shape in an outside cylinder by air scrubbing and to effectively remove the stains of membrane surfaces by providing a shape holding material for holding the shape of the hollow yarn membrane bundle with a member for suppressing the vibration of the shape holding material. SOLUTION: Both ends of the hollow yarn membrane bundles 5 formed by bending plural porous hollow fiber membranes to the U shape in the outside cylinder 1 are adhered and fixed with an adhesive 6 to a cap 7. The shape of the hollow yarn membrane bundle 5 is held by the shape holding material. The shape holding material comprises a central rod 1 of a rod-shaped body, which is held to the adhering and fixing part and a bundle regulating member 2, which passes the inner side of the hollow yarn membrane bundle held by the rod and supports the hollow yarn membrane bundle. The shape holding material is provided with the vibration suppressing material 3 for suppressing the vibration of the shape holding material in the lower part of the bundling regulating material 2. The shape of the vibration suppressing material 3 is not particularly limited, insofar as such shapes are capable of suppressing the vibration and such a shape, which suppresses the turbulent flow of bubbling by dividing flow to several pieces of the flow is selected.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of filter clogging, filter leakage and manganese leakage by adjusting a dissolvedoxygen concn. of a water to be treated to a specified value or more, then adding a chlorine-based oxidizing agent and treating the water with a manganese catalyst filtering material. SOLUTION: A raw water 3 is pumped up from a raw water tank 1 by a pump 2 and sent to an aeration tank 4 to make a dissolved oxygen concn. in the raw water 3 more than 2ppm. Then sodium hypochlorite is added 5 to the raw water and the raw water is sent to a manganese removing tower 6 to execute a contact oxidation. In this way, a precipitation filtering of manganese and the precipitation filtering of iron are caused simultaneously. In this way, a back washing is executed at about 1time/5hr since a clogging is proceeded and pressure rising is enlarged. That is, an iron oxide covering a manganese zeolite is removed by back washing to recover the state.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a module whose total installation cost is low without requiring any casing for its exclusive use or any pressure vessel, etc., by maintaining the module in a floating state in a treating tank and withdrawing the filtrate water with a negative pressure. SOLUTION: This module is maintained in a floating state in an original liquid tank by using floats 3 so that a hollow fiber membrane bundle 5 of the module is completely immersed in the original liquid. At the time of performing filtration treatment of the original liquid, the filtrate is sucked out from the filtrate withdrawal port 1 with the suction force effected by a vacuum pump or head difference. At that time, the original liquid is allowed to pass through hollow fiber membranes of the membrane bundle 5 from the outside to the inside of each of the membranes to subjected the liquid to filtration treatment. The filtrate is collected in a filtrate chamber 2 and then, withdrawn from the chamber 2 to the outside of the module. Thus, this membrane treatment of the original liquid is performed at a low cost.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent clogging of a hollow fiber membrane and accumulation of dirt in a fiber guide in the case of immersing a hollow fiber membrane element in a treatment tank of high concentration and obtaining permeated water by forming a spout port of gas near to a bonding fixing part in the lower part of the hollow fiber membrane element in which many hollow fiber separation membranes are bent into U-shapes, bonded and fixed. SOLUTION: A hollow fiber membrane element 2 is constituted by bending many hollow fiber separation membranes 3 into U-shapes and putting both sides together, bonding and fixing the hollow fiber separation membranes 3 in one side. The hollow fiber membrane elements 2 are immersed in a treatment tank 1 by holding bonding fixing part 4 under and holding a fiber bundle bending part above. Spout ports 10 of gas are formed near to the bonding fixing parts 4 in the lower parts of the hollow fiber membrane elements 2. Thereby, scrubbing is always performed from the lower part and the yarn bundles are positively shaked and dirty substance is stripped and prevented from being accumulated on the bonding fixing part. The fiber bundles are held to the upper part by upward scrubbing gas and the membranes are prevented from being bent and curved.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable prompt restoration to normal treatment after a trouble such as the extinction of bacteria in a treatment tank by providing a process in which part of a liquid in the treatment tank containing microorganisms is preserved continually and temporarily. SOLUTION: An apparatus is equipped with a storage tank 3 for preserving part of a solution or treated water in a treatment tank 1 continually and temporarily outside the tank 1 and in other places. The treated water is introduced once in the storage tank 3 within a given time by using a timer 6 and others, and the solution which has been stored in the storage tank 3 is discharged into the treatment tank 1 or a treatment tank outflow line 5. When the damage of bacteria caused by abnormal treatment is detected there, temporary storage in the storage tank 3 and a discharge operation are stopped, bacteria of a normal time held in the storage tank 3 is stocked, and an operation to restore the treatment tank 1 to a normal state is done during the time. After that, the bacteria in the storage tank 3 are introduced into the treatment tank 1 to start up again to enable the prompt restoration of the apparatus in a normal state.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to maintain the quality of a permeating water at a high level even when a hollow fiber membrane is damaged by setting the ratio between the length of an adhesively fixed part and the inner dia. of the hollow fiber membrane within a specific range, in a hollow fiber membrane module which is composed of a plurality of hollow fiber membranes, at least one-end parts of which are adhesively fixed. SOLUTION: When the hollow fiber membrane module consisting of a plurality of hollow fiber membranes 1, at least one-end parts of which are adhesively fixed and opened, is used in an outer pressure system by which an untreated water is made to flow outside the hollow fiber membranes 1, a pollutant in the untreated water is blocked on the outer surface of the membranes 1 under a normal state. Consequently, a clean water permeating through the interior of the hollow fiber membranes 1, flows and is delivered from a permeating water outlet 4. In this case, when the length of the hollow fiber membrane 1 in the adhesively fixed part 2 is given as L mm and the inner dia. of the follow fiber membrane 1 as Dμm, the hollow fiber membrane module is formed so that the relationship of 3.0

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance the recovery of filtering capacity due to air scrubbing to a large extent and to also enhance maintenance properties, in a hollow fiber membrane element wherein an air introducing pipe is formed at the central part of hollow fiber membrane bundles, by forming introduced air jet orifices from the outside of the element to the lower part below the half of the total length of the element of the pipe. CONSTITUTION:In a hollow fiber membrane filter element 2 composed of an external pressure system passing raw water through hollow fiber membrane bundles 21 from the outside of hollow fiber membranes to the inside thereof to filter the same to take out transmitted water from the single ends of the hollow fiber membrane bundles 2 and having an air introducing pipe formed at the central part of the hollow fiber membrane bundles 21 thereof, introduced air jet orifices 25 from the outside of the element are formed to the lower part below the half of the total length of the element of the pipe. As a result, in the hollow fiber membrane filter element filtering a liquid containing fine particles or a suspended substance and a module, the recovery of filtering capacity due to air scrubbing is enhanced to a large extent. Especially, the effect at a time when air jet orifices are arranged in the hollow fiber membrane bundles by an air dispersing pipe or plate is large. Maintenance properties are also enhanced.
