    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal continuous condensation polymerization apparatus which enables obtaining high quality polymers by improving productivity by speeding up the reaction rate of polymerization and, simultaneously, inhibiting formation of denatured products. SOLUTION: This horizontal continuous condensation polymerization apparatus comprises a vessel 1 extending long sideways having a feed opening 2 at one end in the longitudinal direction, a polymer take-out opening 3 at the other end and a discharge opening 4 for a volatile component at its upper portion; a plurality of stirring disks 5 arranged at spaced intervals in the longitudinal direction within vessel 1; an upper space 14 having a vertical length of 8-35% of the diameter D of the stirring disks provided between the upper end of stirring disks 5 and the top portion of the inner wall of the vessel without arranging a revolving shaft at the center of rotation of stirring disks 5.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent a backward flow of an extractant and an abnormal dwelling of chips, facilitate the cleaning of the inside of an extraction tower, reduce the variation in flow rate in the radial direction of the tower, and thus achieve a uniform extraction by forming a narrow passage between umbrellalike objects installed at the center of the tower and the inside wall of the tower. CONSTITUTION:The main body 1 of an extraction tower has a polyamide chip supply port 66 and an extractant port 9 installed at the top of the tower and a polyamide chip discharge port 8 and an extractant supply port 7 installed at the bottom of the tower. The title apparatus comprises the main body 1 and umbrellalike objects 3 or the umbrellalike objects 3 and circular truncated-cone pipes 2 installed in mutistages and supported by a supporting member 4 installed in the main body 1, and has a narrow passage which allows polyamide chips to fall through and is formed between the umbrellalike objects 3 and the inside wall of the main body 1. The apparatus enables the continuous extraction of polyamide chips without causing a backward flow of an extractant in the extraction tower of a countercurrent contact type and without causing an abnormal dwelling of the chips in the tower, thus enabling a stable production of high-quality chips.
