    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the screen which is light in weight, is free from ruggedness or warpage and twist on the surface and has the high strength even to local load by inserting both side faces of a planar foam with fiber reinforced resin layers to form a laminate and laminating a high-brightening material layer on the outside surface on one side of this laminate. CONSTITUTION:The laminate 6 formed by sandwiching the foam 5 by the fiber reinforced resin layers 4 from both sides is used as a body and the high- brightening material layer 7 is laminated on one surface thereof. This high- brightening material layer 7 is used as the projecting surface of the screen. The laminate 6 can be molded by using a forming mold. The screen 1 is constituted of the laminate 6 formed by sandwiching the foam 5 with the fiber reinforced resin layers 4 in this way, by which the weight of the screen is reduced to allow the easier transporting of the screen. The high rigidity is obtd. and the outside surface which is the projection surface thereof has good smoothness and is distortion-free. The images having the high sharpness are thus formed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To contrive a lower production cost, by fitting a header into each end part of an FRP cylinder containing carbon fibers arranged along the circumferential direction, fitting a metallic cylinder over the resultant assembly, adhering the metallic cylinder to the FRP cylinder and the headers so as to cover them by a magnetic forming method, and fine-finishing the surface of the metallic cylinder. CONSTITUTION:By using an adhesive, metallic headers 2, 2 are fitted respectively into both end parts of an FRP cylinder 1 containing carbon fibers arranged in the longitudinal direction of the FRP cylinder 1 and carbon fibers arranged along the circumferential direction of the FRP cylinder 1. A metallic cylinder 3 is fitted over the assembly of the FRP cylinder 1 and the headers 2, 2. An electromagnetic coil 4 is disposed on the outside of the metallic cylinder 3, and a strong magnetic field is generated by the coil 4 to deform the metallic cylinder 3 toward the FRP cylinder 1 so that the FRP cylinder 1 and the headers 2, 2 are covered tightly with the metallic cylinder 3. Thereafter, irregularities generated in the surface of the metallic cylinder 3 at the time of the magnetic forming are corrected by fine finishing.
