Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent wet films fluidity, so-called running during or after coating, by pantly curing a coating composition consisting of an addition polymerizable unsaturated compound and a film-forming ingredient during or after coating. CONSTITUTION:A coating composition consisting of 3-50 wt.% of an addition polymerizable unsaturated compound and 50-97 wt.% of a film-forming ingredient is partly hot-cured by irradiating wigh ultraviolet, electron rays or by thermal polymerization during or after coating. A vinyl monomer having one ethylenically unsaturated (E) group in the molecule, a polyfunctional monomer having two or more E groups in the molecule, and a high polymer having E groups in the molecule (addition polymerizable unsaturated resin) may be cited as the unsaturated compound. EFFECT:Film having improved metal fixing and metallic feeling can be obtained.

CONSTITUTION:A dispersion which contains a copolymer (A), obtained from the polymerization of a mixture of a hydroxyl group-containing radical-polymerizable monomer, a carboxyl group-containing radical-polymerizable monomer, and another radical-copolymerizable monomer, and a high-molecular compound (B), having incompatibility with (A), water insolubility, and a water absorbability of 10% or less, e.g., polyamide, polyester, PVC, etc. The preferred mixing ratio of the copolymer (A) and the high-molecular compound (B) for a general purpose primer is 95-40wt% for (A) and 5-60wt% for (B). The dispersion can be used in many kinds of base materials.
