    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title molded item having excellent pressure resistance and being especially suitable for instrumental analyses such as ionic liq. chromatography, by providing ion exchange groups on the inner wall face of a hollow molded item made of an org. polymer. CONSTITUTION:The title molded item is a hollow molded item made of an org. polymer (when a liq. is passed through the inside of the hollow molded item, it is pref. that the liq. neither permeates through nor breaks the inner wall and the inner diameter is 10-3,000mu) and has ion exchange groups on the inner wall face. When a high pressure is applied, conventional ion exchange resins and ion exchange fibers are densely filled to increase the resistance to liq. flow and the shapes are eventually broken. The ion exchange hollow molded item of the present invention has excellent pressure resistance and high freedom of the shape in comparison with the conventional ion exchange products. When this tube is bent to form a coil shape, etc., an effective area can be sufficiently ensured. It can be effectively used in the field of instrumental analysis such as ionic liq. chromatography where especially high separation efficiency is required.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a high capacity sheet like article having high strength and excellent in water resistance and collection capacity by preparing an ion exchange sheet like article by using an ion exchange fiber as a main component without almost mixing a heavy metal. CONSTITUTION:In a papermaking apparatus whose surface is formed from a molded product composed of an org. polymer, an ion exchange fiber is formed into a sheet like article according to a wet papermaking process using pure water having electric specific resistance of 5KOMEGA.cm or more. In the papermaking process, the elution of a metal ion and the mixing thereof with the ion exchange fiber are prevented to adjust the content of a heavy metal in the sheet like article to 20ppm or less. The ion exchange fiber is formed from a polystyrenic or polyvinyl alcohol type base polymer into which various chelate groups such as a cation exchange group, an aninon exchange group or the like are introduced. By this method, a sheet like article improved in the analytical/measuring accuracy of a trace element is obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the inclusion of calcium ion and magnesium iron, by incorporating ion exchange fibers in a humidifier. CONSTITUTION:Ion exchange fibers, whose base material is multi-core type mixed and composite fiber having the sheath constituent of insoluble synthetic organic ion exchange fiber, in which an ion exchange group is introudced into an ion exchange polymer such as polyustylene series or the like, and especially the same fiber having the sheath constituent of ion exchange polymer, as well as the core constituent of reinforcing polymer is incorporated in a humidifier. This ion exchange fiber is constituted of the short fiber of about 0.1-100mu and is employed in the form of filament series or felt series. A mixed body of a cation exchange group, such as sulfonic acid group or the like, and an anion exchange group, such as amino group or the like, is employed as the ion exchange group. In this case, the mixing ratio of cation to anion is about 1:9-10:0. According to this constitution, the inclusion of calcium ion and magnesium ion may be prevented.
