    Abstract: PURPOSE:To adsorb and separate especially the 3,5-isomer, by treating a dichlorocumene isomer mixture with an adsorbent consisting of zeolite, such as faujasite, L or beta type, having a specific silica/alumina molar ratio and pore diameter. CONSTITUTION:The 3,5-isomer is separated from a dichlorocumene isomer mixture. In the process, zeolite (e.g., faujasite, L or beta type) having >=2 molar ratio of silica/alumina and 0.6-1.0nm pore diameter is used as an adsorbent to carry out adsorption at 50-250 deg.C under atmospheric pressure -40kg/cm G. Thereby, the aimed substance is efficiently obtained in high purity. The method for adsorption and separation may be carried out by either of methods for chromatographic separation and collection and using continuous a pseudo-moving bed. The present substance is useful as a synthetic intermediate for medicines, agricultural chemicals, dyes, etc.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To separate especially 3,5-isomor from a mixture of dichlorocumene isomers by using a zeolite having specific silica/alumina molar ratio and pore diameter as an adsorbent and xylene as a desorbent. CONSTITUTION:Especially 3,5-isomer is separated and recovered from a mixture of dichlorocumene isomers by using a zeolite having a silica/alumina molar ratio of >=2 (preferably 2-30) and a pore diameter of 0.6-1.0nm as an adsorbent and xylene as a desorbent. The separation operation is carried out preferably at 50-250 deg.C under atmospheric pressure - 40kg/cm G in liquid phase. The zeolite is preferably selected from faujasite-type zeolite. L-type zeolite and beta-type zeolite. The 3,5-isomer useful as an intermediate for pharmaceuticals, agricultural chemicals, dyes, etc., can be separated and recovered in high purity and efficiency by the present process.

CONSTITUTION:A specific bromodichlorobenzene isomer, especially 1-bromo-3,5- dichlorobenzene useful as an intermediate raw material for agricultural chemicals, dyes, pharmaceuticals, etc., is separated from a mixture of bromodichlorobenzene isomers containing 1-bromo-3,5-dichlorobenzene, 1- bromo-2,4-dichlorobenzene, 1-bromo-2,6-dichlorobenzene, 1-bromo-2,5- dichlorobenzene, etc., by using a zeolite (especially a faujasite zeolite containing cations selected from metallic ions of group IA, IB and IIA of the periodic table and proton) as an adsorbent.
