Abstract: PURPOSE: To improve the cutting precision, so as to restrain the generating amount of paper powder without adding any special device when a prepreg member as an overlapped body of the prepreg and a separating pattern paper is cut by means of a shear cutter. CONSTITUTION: When a prepreg member having the desired width is manufactured by continuously cutting a prepreg member 5 in which a sheet-like prepreg 5a is held on a separating pattern paper 5b by using a shear cutter 21 provided with a lower blade 22 and an upper blade 23 to be engaged with the lower blade 22, the thickness W1 of the upper blade 23 is set to 0.2 to 0.3mm, the blade tip angle θ2 is set to 20 to 40, and the width W2 of a groove 22a formed on the lower blade 22, and into which the blade tip 23a of the upper blade 23 is to be inserted is set to 0.5 to 1.0mm.

CONSTITUTION:A wide prepreg material 5 which is comprised by carrying a prepreg wherein resin whose lowest viscosity measured at a heating rate of 2 deg.C/min. is within a range of 5X10 to 5Pa.s is taken as matrix resin on mold release paper is wound around a lower blade 21 by setting a winding angle at 5 degrees or lower and at the time of manufacturing of a narrow prepreg material by cutting off the prepreg material 5 into desirous widths by making use of a cutter 20 having an upper blade 22 cutting off the prepreg material by cooperating with the lower blade and the wide prepreg material, lower blade and upper blade are cooled at 10 to -50 deg.C at a cutting part.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce in good efficiency a prepreg on which a matrix resin is laminated in multiple stage, by making a primary prepreg by superposing a release sheet carrying a resin on each surface of a sheeted reinforcing fiber and effecting the transfer of the resin to the reinforcing fiber and the infiltration of the resin into the fiber, releasing the release sheet from the primary prepreg and repeating this procedure. CONSTITUTION:A release sheet 14 (of a thickness of about 0.05-0.02mm) carrying a resin 16 (a thermosetting resin such as an epoxy resin or a thermoplastic resin such as a polyimide) is superposed on each surface of a sheeted reinforcing fiber 12 and the assemblage is pressed under heating with press rolls to effect the transfer of the resin 12 to the reinforcing fiber 12 and the infiltration of the resin 16 into the fiber 12, thus forming a primary prepreg 18. After the release sheet 15 is released from the primary prepreg 18, a release sheet 24 or 25 carrying a resin 26 formed by dispersing polyamide particles 28 in a resin component 27 which is desirably the same as the one used in the primary prepreg is superposed on the naked surface and pressed under heating with press rolls to transfer the resin to the primary prepreg 18. In this way, a secondary prepreg is obtained.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a prepreg material in which the generation of lifting on the surface of the prepreg and dimensional change even after being allowed to stand after cutting are controlled and which is free from lifting and other are prevented when wound onto a core body and has good molding work efficiency. SOLUTION: The releasing surface of release paper of 2-6 wt.% water content is coated with a thermosetting resin, and a resin film is produced. The bundle of arranged reinforcing fibers is held between the resin films or between the resin film and the release paper, heated and pressed with the holding state kept, impregnated with a resin, and wound up continuously to produce a prepreg material. Tension of 10-200 g/1000 filaments on average is applied to the bundle. In the holding state, the drawing tension of the r paper is 3-25 kg/m, and the drawing tension of the paper is 10-50 kg/m.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the generation of bonding inferiority between a core material and a prepreg or between prepregs even if a prepreg material is allowed to stand after cutting by supporting release paper on one surface of a striplike prepreg having a specific resin containing ratio and covering the other surface thereof with a cover film. SOLUTION: Striplike paper 2 is applied to one surface of a striplike prepreg 1 to support the prepreg 1. The other surface of the prepreg 1 is covered with a cover film 3 composed of a sunthetic resin film. The cover film 3 extends up to the end parts in the width direction of the release film as if encloses the prepreg but may have the same width as the prepreg 1. The prepreg 1 consists of reinforcing fibers and an uncured resin infiltrated thereinto and the resin impregnation ratio thereof is 15-30wt.%. As the synthetic resin film as the cover film 3, a polyethylene film is pref. and the tensile strength of the film is pref. 20MPa or more in the longitudinal direction thereof and 16MPa or more in the lateral direction thereof.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a resin raw material for a prepreg used as a matrix resin giving a prepreg reduced in stripelike defect or defect such as resin impregnation irregularity by setting an amt. of foreign matter at the time of filtering using a mesh metal net with a specific mesh size under atmospheric pressure to a specific value or less. CONSTITUTION: When a matrix resin is applied in a film like state by a coater, the resin is usually stagnated within a pot for a definite time but, when foreign matter is present, it is gradually grown. If foreign matter is present when a resin soln. passes through the slit of a coater, the filtering due to the slit is generated and not only the accumulation of foreign matter but also the growth thereof are generated to obstruct the flow of the resin emitted from the slit of the coater to generate a stripelike defect in a resin film. Then, the amt. of the foreign matter in a resin raw material for a prepreg at a time when the raw material is filtered under normal pressure by a #200 mesh metal net is set to 0.1g/kg or less. Further, filtering under normal pressure is performed in such a state that the resin raw material is held to temp. becoming liquid or dissolved in a solvent.
