    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the durability etc., of the title power transmission belt, by imparting non-twist aromatic polyamide fiber with a specific compound-contg. treating agent followed by heating treatment and than twisting and application of an adhesive to prevent single fiber fray on the section. CONSTITUTION:Non-twist aromatic polyamide fiber is imparted with 0.5-4wt.%, based on said fiber, of a treating agent made up of (A) an epoxy compound and (B) rubber latex in the weight ratio B/A=0.4-2.3, followed by heating treatment at 150-240 deg.C for 90-210sec., twist application so that the K value defined by the equation (K is twist coefficient; D is denier) fall between 500 and 2,500, and application of an adhesive (in case the transmission belt is made of rubber, a RFL adhesive), thus reducing the single fiber fray the side of said belt without strength drop of the aromatic polyamide fiber.
