    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a yarn winding device with a light and inexpensive yarn cutting and holding mechanism, offering simple construction for facilitating the removal of a remaining yarn and maintaining a high probability of successful threading. SOLUTION: The yarn winding device comprises a bobbin 2 having an inclined portion 9 on the outer periphery of one end face and a yarn cutting and holding portion 8 for cutting a yarn and holding the cut yarn at its end in a grooved portion 7 formed in a contact area between the inclined portion 9 of the bobbin and the other end face 11 of a bobbin mounted adjacent the bobbin and/or in a contact area between the inclined portion of the bobbin and a bobbin receiving portion 12 of a spindle 1.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance the durability and fatique resistance of a power transmission belt by applying a treatment agent composed of an org. solvent solution of a urethane resin to a cord in an amount of specific % by wt. of the cord and subjecting the treated cord to drying and heat treatment to apply an adhesive thereto. CONSTITUTION:A multifilament composed of aromatic polyamide fibers is subjected to thread twisting of a reinforcing cord being a core material for a belt to obtain a cord and a treatment agent composed of an org. solvent solution of a urethane resin is applied to the cord in an amount of 3-35% by wt. of the cord and the treated cord is dried and heat-treated to be coated with an adhesive. The cord is a plied cord obtained by applying final twisting to several first twist cords. By this method, a power transmission belt wherein fibrilation, compression fatique properties, yarn-yarn abrasion and the lowering of durability or fatique resistance caused by the fray of the power transmission belt are eliminated is obtained.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cord for reinforcing power transmission belt that can prevent the reinforcing fibers exposed at the belt edge face from being loosened into individual single filaments, when the belt is formed, and has the increased adhesion to the matrix rubber with high strength and good fatigue resistance and provide an efficient production process therefor. SOLUTION: This cord is constituted with (a) a reinforcing fiber yarn and (b) a sheath-core conjugated yarn in which the core component comprises a thermoplastic polymer melting at >=230 deg.C and the sheath component comprises a thermoplastic resin melting at 120-220 deg.C, and this cord is impregnated with an adhesive. In this case, the individual yarns constituting the cord with the thermoplastic polymer melting at 120-220 deg.C as the sheath component in the conjugated fiber yarn are at least partially fused between single filaments in the individual yarns.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject cord, high in strength, and resistance to heat, hydrolysis and chemicals, such as ethylene glycol-based, alkaline, acidic solvents and the like by twisting a plurality of lined-up, specific polyphenylene sulfide fibers. SOLUTION: This cord is for reinforcing hoses suitable for water services, in particular hoses for radiators and coolers for automobiles, and obtained by twisting a plurality of lined-up polyphenylene sulfide fibers having a strength of 4.5 g/d or more, initial tensile resistance of 60 g/d or more and dry heat shrinkage of 8% or less at 180 deg.C, wherein these fibers account for at least 20 wt.% of size of the total fibers that constitute the cord.
