Abstract: PURPOSE:To control a traffic characteristic by providing plural information flow control means into a communication network so as to apply policing and shaping to also other sections than a cell input output section in a communication network of a terminal equipment. CONSTITUTION:Plural terminal equipments 1, 7 are connected to an asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) communication network 8, which consists of an ATM node system and an ATM link system. The policing control in the entrance of a virtual channel VC is implemented by the ATM node system and the policing control in the entrance of a virtual path VP is implemented by the ATM link system. Moreover, the shaping is implemented at a location where the traffic characteristic of the VP or VC is changed largely by multiplexing or exchange processing. Thus, the traffic characteristic is improved by allowing the policing and shaping to be controlled through the provision at a required position selectively.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the communication efficiency and to reduce the service cost by transferring the most of information in the best effort class and in non-real time by means of the transmission lines of plural classes of different quality and a data storage means. SOLUTION: A data storage device 201 sends forward from the first time the real-time moving image data whose service quality is assured to a terminating device 205 via a port 201a and a circuit 213. At the same time, the moving image data are sent to a terminating device 206 from the end of a vide source via plural ports 201b and an inexpensive circuit 214 in the (best effort) service quality where the bit rate and the error rate are not always assured. Thus the image information is received after the its error is corrected. A storage device 207 stores the moving images which are sent from the end of the video source in the time trace-back direction. A stream control circuit 208 monitors the time stamps which are sent from both devices 205 and 206 and releases the real-time calls of high quality when the non-real time information is coincident with the real-time information.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To shorten transmission delay time per message by including the number of slots to be reserved in a next frame or after in the first packet and reserving a time slot according to the success of the transmission. CONSTITUTION:A reservation managing part 16 determines the assignment of the time slot for a self station and other station in the next frame according to a prescribed algorithm from a frame synchronizing signal and a signal to indicate whether received respective slots are empty, the transmission succeeds, or the transmission fails from a receiving part 21, another signal to indicate whether the above-mentioned packet is for the self station or for other station from a packet decomposing part 20, and the number of reserved time slots included in the above-mentioned packet and stores the assignment. Further, the managing part 16 returns the information of the time slot assigned to either the self station or other station to an access control part according to the inquiry of the access control part 17. Thus, the transmission delay time per message can be shortened.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To make band of signals narrow and to make beat detection of beat of collision sure in a perfect diffusion type equal protocol transmitting system, by removing higher harmonic component for signals of basic band or signals made by encoding the basic band signals and making frequency modulation.
CONSTITUTION: In a MODEM6, a low pass filter 51 is provided, and a higher harmonic component is removed from basic band signals sent from an information processing unit. An MSK is made on the signals through an FM modulator 11, and band-limited by a band-pass filter 12. An output signal of a band-pass filter 15 is given to a level detector 17, and the state of collision is detected utilizing the fact that a beat signal generated by collision shows change of more than twice each transmitted signal in amplitude. When the higher harmonic component is removed, the waveform becomes dull, and the total amount of change of phase difference does not amount to ±π in 1 bit time T. However, in a period 2T, the total amount of change of phase difference becomes nearly ±π, and the level of a beat signal becomes either twice or zero level.
