    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to divide a picture screen through forming a display effective part and a display non-effective part by selectively forming a phosphor layer in a necessary region. CONSTITUTION:A film is formed with a photo sensitive material on the inside surface of a panel portion of a glass bulb 1, and then a light shielding plate 2 corresponding to an effective part of the panel portion is klaced on the outer surface of the panel portion and the panel portion is exposed by a light source 3 having the wave length corresponding to the photosensitivity. A nonfluorescent material is sprayed inside the glass bulb 1 from a tank 4 which stores the non-fluorescent material by a nozzle 5. After that, clean air controlled by an air pressure controller 7 is sprayed by a clean air nozzle 6 to remove the surplus nonfluorescent material. Next, the glass bulb with the non-fluorescent material stuck to a non-effective part is exposed to a light source 3 from the side of the panel portion to give adhesion to the effective part. Further, the necessary fluorescent material is sprayed from the fluorescent material tank 9 by a nozzle 8 to make fluorescent material stick to the 6 part with adhesion.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enlarge the allowance of the beam landing by arranging the circular holes of a shadow mask so as the distance between each hole increases with linear increasing rate in horizontal direction and changes with barrel type changing rate in vertical direction. CONSTITUTION:An in-line type color cathode-ray tube is constructed with the circular hole type shadow mask and the dot type screen. Where, the circular holes 2 of the shadow mask are arranged as follows: the distance between the each arrangement line H21-H27 in horizontal direction is increased linearly to the left and the right side from the vertical center line H24 with specified increasing rate, and the distance between the each arrangement line V21-V27 in vertical direction is changed in barrel type to the upper and the lower side from the horizontal center line V24 with specified changing rate. And the increasing rate in the horizontal direction and the changing rate in the vertical direction are adjusted so as the number of the circular hole per unit area is kept nearly constant all over the mask 2. Therefore adequate landing allowance can be obtained to keep the resolution constant all over the picture screen.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance reliability in positioning for setting up each internal part, by providing the panel and/or the funnel with projections disposed in the vicinity of the surface to be sealed thereby setting up, or securely holding, at least one of the internally equipped parts by means of these projections. CONSTITUTION:Four projections 4 are provided being integrated with the funnel 1 in the vicinity of the surface to be sealed. A stepped part 5 in the axial direction of this projection 4 is provided with a hole which fits on a retainer bead 6 provided on the side wall of said stepped part, while an internal magnetic shielding member 8 provided with an axial stopper 7 is fixedly mounted on the stepper part 5. By such construction, the internal magnetic shielding member 8 can be completely separated from the shadow mask assembly which is held by the panel pins. Therefore, in a large-sized color picture tube, the total weight to be held by the panel pins is only the weight of the shadow mask assembly, independently of the increased weight of the internal magnetic shielding member 8. Thus production of a crack in the tube or an error in the relative positioning between the holes provided in the shadow mask for allowing the electron beams to pass therethrough and the phosphor material layer forming the phosphor screen can be eliminated.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent any extension of slit holes located in the periphery of a shadow mask by forming bridges through the process of connecting them together, while said bridges vertically separate slit holes positioned on the phosphor screen side of the shadow mask, by means of connection grooves each having concave parts on its both ends. CONSTITUTION:A shadow mask 4 is positioned between an electron gun and a phosphor screen which is by laying a phosphor stripe 3 on the inner surface of a panel 1. It is formed by connecting adjacent slit holes on the side of the phosphor stripe 3 to each other by means of each connection groove 12, and by providing concave parts 13 on both ends of the groove 12. Here, the concave parts 13 are located at almost the same level as the thickness of bridges which vertically separate the slit holes, and the thickness of the concave parts 13 is controlled by the concave degree of the parts 13. Therefore, variations in the desired thickness and width of the bridges can be reduced. As a result, any unevenness of the form and quality reduction, and any extension of slit holes located in the periphery of the shadow mask 4 which might be caused after the formation of the mask 4 can be prevented.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:In a shadow-mask type color picture tube, to improve the tracking characteristic by connecting between second and fourth electrodes, between third, fifth and seventh electrodes and between sixth and eighth electrodes respectively while specifying the length of the electrode and the diameter of the open hole section. CONSTITUTION:An electron beam radiation source formed with a cathode 20, first electrode 21 and second electrode 22 and a main lens system formed with 3-8th electrodes 23-28 are provided in CRT. Approximately 150V is applied on the cathode 20 while OV is applied on the electrode 21 then electrodes 22, 24 are connected and approximately 600V is applied, thereafter electrodes 23, 25, 27 are connected and approximately 7KV is applied on the focus terminal 29 then electrodes 26, 28 are connected and approximately 25KV is applied. The axial length of the electrodes 24, 26 is in the range of 30-40% of the open section diameter of the electrodes 24, 26. The axial length of the electrode 26 is set in the range of 30-40% of the electrodes 25 or 27, while the open section diameter of the electrode 26 is set in the range of 100-120% of the open section diameter. Consequently the tracking characteristic can be improved.

The magnetic field 36 is generated nearby the coil 35 in the outside of the leakage magnetic flux region of a horizontal deflecting main magnetic flux, like a magnetic flux 37a, and is generated in the reverse direction against the leakage flux generated from the crossover parts 32a, 32b on the fluorescent screen side of the horizontal deflection coils 30 and cancels the leakage magnetic field. At the location apart from the coil 35, the reverse magnetic flux 37b against the leakage magnetic flux 38 of the horizontal deflection main magnetic flux is generated and makes an induced magnetic flux density dB/dT small.
