Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode-ray tube having improved display quality with no joint between adjacent small pictures. SOLUTION: In this cathode-ray tube, a plurality of electron guns for emitting an electron beam on a phosphor screen and for dividing and scanning the phosphor screen into a plurality of areas are provided within a vacuum envelope. Each electron gun is provided with a cathode for emitting the electron beam and an electron lens having an electrode group disposed with the cathode, the cathode is applied with a picture signal voltage. One of the electrode group has an electrode opening 60 for passing the electron beam through and a recessed part 62 in an approximately rectangular shape. The electrode opening 60 is disposed in the recessed part 62 and the center axis of the recessed part 62 is disposed offset in the direction inverse to the border of the divided areas respective to the center axis of the electrode opening 60. By providing a deflecting part having three recessed parts 62 on the surface on the third grid electrode side of a second grid electrode G2, a deflected amount of the electron beam is corrected to reduce a variation amount of the electron beam reaching point on the phosphor screen to approximately zero according to an amount of the electron beam current.
