    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reliably remove the processing liquid coated on the inner face of a panel and fiber-shaped chips by feeding a solution liquid in a tank body and fitting a sponge-shaped material softened by water. CONSTITUTION:A sponge-shaped material 23 is pressed to the seal edge section of a panel 1, thereby the seal edge section of the panel 1 is immersed to the preset position in a solution liquid 31 oozing out of the sponge-shaped material 23, and the undesired section of a film layer 2 is removed. At the same time, the residual liquid of the processing liquid coated on the inner face as the substrate to form the film layer 2 stuck to the seal edge portion of the panel 1 and fiber-shaped chips such as lacquer formed when the film layer 2 is fitted are removed by the water oozing out of the sponge-shaped material 23 and the solution liquid 31. A tank body 11 is lifted or lowered at the ascent speed of 5-15mm/sec and the descent speed of 20-30 mm/sec. The solution liquid is accumulated to the depth of 2-5mm at the portion where the sponge-shaped material is fitted.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To stably form a perfect fluorescent screen by the defoaming effect by forming a phosphor layer by using photosensitive phosphor slurry containing at least a polyoxyalkylene glycol derivative as a surface active agent. CONSTITUTION:(a) Photoreceptor slurry is applied to and dried on an inside surface of a panel 4, and a photosensitive phosphor slurry layer 10 is formed. (b) A shadow mask 3 is installed on it, and is exposed, and a pattern corresponding to an electron beam passing hole 11 is baked on the layer 10. (c) The layer 10 is developed, and an unsensitized part is removed, and a phosphor layer 12B of an optional single color is formed. (d) On the other two colors, similar work is repeated, and three-color phosphor layers 12B, 12G and 12R are formed. Slurry is mainly composed of phosphor, PVA and ADC, and preferably contains polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene ethylene diamine by 0.5 to 0.75weight% to the PVA as a surface active agent.

CONSTITUTION:A fluorescent screen forming method for a color cathode ray tube is provided in such a way that sensitive fluorescent material slurry is applied to the inner surface of a panel 1, dried to form a sensitive fluorescent material slurry layer 25, and a pattern corresponding to an aperture 21 of a shadow mask 7 is printed by ultraviolet exposure. Before the sensitive fluorescent material slurry is applied to the inner surface of the panel, a precoat solution containing an ultraviolet emission fluorescent material is applied, then dried to form a precoat layer 24 containing the ultraviolet emission fluorescent material.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To form a smooth metal-deposited film on a three-color phosphor layer by using aqueous solution, which contains colloidal silica, interface activator, and polyacrylic acid, for a precoating agent. CONSTITUTION:A light absorbing layer 15 and a three-color phosphor layers 18R, 18G, and 18B are formed on the inside of a panel 10 and they are cleaned, and then a precoating agent is applied by spray to fill them between phosphor layers. For the precoating agent, aqueous solution containing colloidal silica, interface activator, and polyacrylic acid is used. The surface of each phosphor layer is smoothed by the precoating agent by rotating the panel 1, where this precoating agent is applied, at specified speed so as to remove the surplus precoating agent by centrifugal force. Next, an organic resin film is made by spraying liquid having acrylic resin for its main ingredients on the precoating agent while rotating the panel 10 and then, drying it. After this, an aluminum- deposited film is formed on the organic resin film by vacuum deposition. Hereby, a smooth metal-deposited film is formed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To suppress the etching irregularity of a graphite film by pouring a liquid on the inner surface of a panel, removing a photo-resist film and a graphite film on the film from the inner surface of the panel, and forming a stripe-shaped light absorbing film. CONSTITUTION:A graphite liquid 2 diluted with water is poured on a photo- resist film formed in a pattern shape on the surface of a panel 1, the panel 1 mounted on a rotating device 3 is inclined and rotated, thereby the whole panel 1 is coated with the graphite liquid 2. After the graphite film is dried, a pre-coating liquid is poured on the inner surface of the panel 1 while the panel 1 is rotated, then the pre-coating liquid infiltrates into the graphite film. In addition, while this pre-coating liquid is still wet, an etching liquid is poured on the inner surface of the panel 1, then the photo-resist film is expanded in about a minute. Next, water is sprayed on the inner surface of the panel 1 with a spray, then the photo-resist film and the graphite film on it are removed, and a stripe-shaped graphite film (light absorbing film) 4 is formed on the inner surface of the panel 1. Accordingly, no etching irregularity of this film is observed, and no pinhole 6 is generated.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To exfoliate merely a phosphor layer without removing a dug layer while improving the quality of white uniformity property by forming the inactive layer with a nitric acid solution, in which frit glass is melted, on the non-luminous black substance layer and on the exposed part in the panel inside of the phosphor layer formation part. CONSTITUTION:A resist film 12 is formed evenly covering a panel 11, while its prescribed part 12 is exposed for photohardening. The non-exposure part of the resist film is removed by developing while removing merely photohardened resist stripes 14. A dug layer 151 is formed on the inside of the panel 11 including the upper part of said resist stripes 14. The dug layer 15 on the stripes 14 is removed with an exfoliation agent so as to provide dug layers 15 as well as the phosphor layer formation part 16, in which the inside of the panels 11 between said dug layers is exposed, followed by wiping the whole surface with precoating liquid, in which frit glass is dissolved in nitric acid, for forming an inactive layer 21 by drying. After forming a suspension layer 17 of a green phosphor and resist, the prescribed part of the suspension layer 17 is exposed for photohardening. Next, non-exposure part of the suspention part 17 is removed by developing for forming an exposure-hardened striped green phosphor layer 18.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To stably form a lacquer coating film having a specified thickness as the underlay for a metal evaporative film when lacquer is sprayed on a phosphor layer formed on the inner surface of the panel by restricting the relationship between the panel rotating speed and the lacquer viscosity. CONSTITUTION:Phosphor layers 10R, 10B, 10G (9 is light absorbing layer) are formed over the inner surface of a panel 1 and wetted, and lacquer is sprayed to the wetted phosphor layers while the panel 1 is rotated. The rotation of the panel 1 is continued even after application of lacquer so that the coating thickness is made uniform, followed by a drying process to form a lacquer coating film 30. A metal evaporative film 11 is formed over this lacquer coating film 30. The relationship between the panel rotating speed and lacquer viscosity at 25 deg.C at the time of lacquer spraying should be 82-115rpm for 0.4-0.65mpa.s, 116-198rpm for 0.66-1.20mpa.s, 199-270rpm for 1.21-4.50mpa.s, and 271-330rpm for 4.51-7.50mpa.s.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a red emitting phosphor which gives clear-cut stripes and dots, is dense, and does not cause color mixing by forming a red emitting Y2O3 phosphor having a specified means particle diameter, a specified ratio of a mean particle diameter to a 50% particle diameter in a cumulative slurry particle size distribution, and a specified distribution of volume of particles by the diameter. CONSTITUTION:A red emitting phosphor having a mean particle diameter of 4-5mum and made of a matrix comprising yttrium oxysulfide, wherein the ratio of the 50% D of a cumulative slurry particle size distribution to the means particle diameter is 1.3 or less, and the volume (weight) of particles having a diameter of 8.01mum or larger is at most 10%. Examples of the phosphor to be used include an Eu-activated yttrium sulfide phosphor and a pigment-coated Eu-activated yttrium sulfide phosphor. This phosphor can give a fluorescent screen which provides clear-cut stripes and dots and does not cause color mixing; therefore, it can give a color cathode ray tube having a high-quality fluorescent screen.
