    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shadow mask for color picture, having an increased display property with causing deformation due to an impact or the like in the vicinity central portion. SOLUTION: On a mask plate 1 of a rectangular shadow mask, a large hoe portion 2a with a large hole size at the lager hole side is formed at the side face where an electron gun is positioned, and a rectangular hole 2 with different aperture sizes, forming a small hole portion 2b with a small hole size at the smaller hole side, is provided at the side face where a fluorescent face is positioned. The rectangular hole 2 is off-centered as going from the center to periphery, so that the smaller hole portion 2b is positioned closer to the center that the larger hole 2a is. An angle made between tangent of the wall 2c that the electron beam B is attracted in the direction of the fluorescent plane, and a perpendicular passing the center of the rectangular hole 2 is larger than that made between a trajectory that the electron beam B is incident into the rectangular hole 2 and a perpendicular which as through the center of the rectangular hole 2. This prevent an electron beam B from kicking in the rectangular hole 2.

CONSTITUTION:A fluorescent screen forming method for a color cathode ray tube is provided in such a way that sensitive fluorescent material slurry is applied to the inner surface of a panel 1, dried to form a sensitive fluorescent material slurry layer 25, and a pattern corresponding to an aperture 21 of a shadow mask 7 is printed by ultraviolet exposure. Before the sensitive fluorescent material slurry is applied to the inner surface of the panel, a precoat solution containing an ultraviolet emission fluorescent material is applied, then dried to form a precoat layer 24 containing the ultraviolet emission fluorescent material.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color cathode-ray tube enabling improvement of electron beam focusing characteristics over the whole displaying area and improvement of luminance intensity of the whole displaying area. SOLUTION: A shadow mask 12 is provided with a plurality of opening hole rows 19 disposed in parallel each other. Every opening hole row 19 comprises a plurality of opening holes 34 disposed in a row at a prescribed interval. A stripe-shaped projection 50 which is charged by electron beams irradiating it and thereby forcuses the electron beams toward opening hole sides is formed on an electron gun structure side surface of the shadow mask 12 and on both sides of every opening hole row 19. This projection 50 comprises the first pattern 50a which is disposed on both sides of the opening holes 34 in a mask area 20a where opening holes are disposed, and the second pattern 50b which is disposed being connected to the first pattern 50a on a frame area surrounding the mask area 20a.
