    Abstract: PURPOSE: To prevent a noise wave, while interrupting a leakage of a high frequency power, by forming a reflective plate behind a fluorescent lamp by a metal plate and a non-conductive coating with its front surface covered by a non-conductive film. CONSTITUTION: A non-conductive coating is provided by adhesively coating a non-conductive reflective film 56 on the front surface of a metal plate 55 and by coating the surface of the reflective film 56 with a non-conductive translucent film 57. Thereby, electric field by a high frequency current of a lamp 4 is interrupted and an induction current is not sent to the metal plate 55 in order to prevent a leakage of a lighting current, and in addition, noise radiated from a lighting circuit and a lamp 4 is shielded by the metal plate 55, in order to prevent an optical image of a liquid crystal being inconveniently disturbed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To lower the voltage at the time of starting discharge by forming the film of metal oxide on the surface of three-wave length light emission type rare earth fluorescent body, and setting charge quantity per a predetermined weight of the fluorescent body at the time of contact to the reduced iron powder having a specific particle diameter at a predetermined muC or more in red, green and blue group of the fluorescent body. CONSTITUTION:Transparent conductive film 5 such as tin oxide is formed on the inner surface of a bulb 1, and fluorescent body film 6 is formed on the surface of the film 5. MgO powder is adhered to the surface of the fluorescent body powder 10 of three-wave length light emission type rare earth fluorescent body to change the charged tendency to the positive direction at the time of contact of the fluorescent body to the reduced iron powder having a predetermined particle diameter. At this stage, red group fluorescent body Y2O3: Emu blue group fluorescent body BaMg2Al16O27: Emu, and green group fluorescent body are adhered to (Re, Tb, Ce) (P, Si)O4 (Re means rare earth element) at 0.2weight% respectively, and charged quantity against the red and blue group is set at OmuC or more, and charged quantity against the green group is set at +1.5muC or more. Voltage at the time of starting discharge is thereby lowered.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide rapid start type fluorescent lamp, in which yellowing of a fluorescent body layer and blackening of EC film are prevented. CONSTITUTION:In a rapid start type fluorescent lamp, a transparent conductive film 5 and a fluorescent body layer 6 are formed on the inner surface of a bulb 1, and mercury and rare gas are sealed in the bulb 1. The fluorescent body forming the fluorescent body layer 6 is charged with electric charge at -0.5-+1.5 micro coulomb per 1g of the fluorescent body at the time of contact to the reduced iron powder having a particle diameter at 74-44mum. Since charged tendency is controlled, adsorption of the fluorescent body and mercury and adsorption of the fluorescent body and mercury compound are controlled to prevent yellowing of the fluorescent body and blackening of the EC film.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To manufacture an electrode material for a cold cathode tube having efficient electric radioactive properties and free from change in the lapse of time by uniformly mixing a specified amt. of electron radioactive substance powder into a base material constituted of metallic powder. CONSTITUTION:A base material of metallic powder and electron radioactive substance powder are uniformly mixed so that the content of the electron radioactive substance will be regulated to 0.1 to 20wt.% with an electrode material as a reference. As the base material, W, Mo, Ta, Re or the like are preferably used, and its grain size is regulated to about 0.5 to 50mu. The electron radioactive substance is an intermetallic compound having Pa vapor pressure at 1000 deg.C and >=2000 deg.C m.p. As the above, BaO, CaO, BaTiO3, La2O3, LaB6, TiC, NbC or the like are preferably used, and its grain size is regulated to about 0.1 to 10mu. In this way, an electrode material for a cold cathode fluorescent lamp capable of reducing the blackening of the tube end can be obtd.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to gain stable discharge-characteristic not affected by the degree of a lamp current by forming a discharge electrode with a metal structure comprising plural holes opened in the direction of discharge and putting at least one of these plural holes in such a condition that an arc spot is generated easier than those for other holes. CONSTITUTION:A discharge electrode 13 in form of a metal structure 12 which is formed in such way that metal sleeves 7-11 made of nickel or the like are bundled, with their own outer walls stuck to each other, on lead wires 6 and 6 is attached to a stem 5. The metal sleeves 7-11 are arranged in parralel with the axis of a glass bulb 4 and at least one of the metal sleeves 7-11, such as, a metal sleeve 9 is formed in such a way that it is opened to the side of the discharge electrode facing the sleeve and arranged at the other end of glass bulb 4, that is, in the direction of discharge. Accordingly, when discharge is started, arc spots are easily generated in the metal sleeve 9, since the impedance of discharge thereof is small, even if a lamp current is small. Therefore, glow always enters the metal sleeve 9 when discharge is started and while the lamp is on, so that stable discharge is established.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a light diffusive film which is easily formable, is suitable for mass production, is hardly worn mechanically, and can be formed regardless of the material of a base body or the inside and outside surfaces thereof by incorporating foam into the continuous film body formed on the surface of the base body thereby providing light diffusivity thereto.
    CONSTITUTION: For example, dioctyl phthalate (DOP) is added as a high boiling solvent at about 5W10vol% to an a low boiling solvent for an org. metallic compd., for example, tetraisopropyl titanate and such soln. is coated on the surface of the base body 1 of a halogen electric bulb, etc. and is dried to form a gel-like coated film 24 and thereafter the film is calcined for about 5min at about 600°C. The DOP liquid drops 25 diffused into the film 24 evaporate and the org. metallic compd. decomposes so that the drops 25 expand diametrally to form foam 22 while evaporating. The drops 25 existing near the surface of the film 24 are burst to communicate with the external air and form recessed holes 23 in the stage of expanding diametrally. The light diffusive film 2 contg. the foam 22 and the holes 23 in the body 21 is thus formed. The resultant film 2 exhibits the excellent light diffusivity even if the film is extremely thin.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the number of used color cut glass filters by forming a dielectric multilayer film on at least either the outer surface or the inner surface of a valve and decreasing the passage of energy in a long wavelength band. CONSTITUTION:The dielectric multilayer film 7 which decreases the transmission of energy in the wavelength band longer than 600nm is formed by alternately laminating a high refractive index layer and a low refractive index layer on at least either the outer surface or the inner surface of the straight tube-shaped valve 1 made of quartz or hard glass. Therefore, sensitivity in the highest sensitivity part is suppressed in a photosensitive body having the highest sensitivity in the area longer than 600nm and uniform sensitivity can be obtained extending wide area. Thus, the use of the color cut glass filters can be eliminated or the number of used color cut glass filters can be reduced, so that the cost of a copying machine can be lowered.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make the title lamp smaller in size, lighter in weight and higher in position than a bulb as well as to reduce the extent of infrared radiation by installing a strip light reflection infrared transmitting filter in at least one side surface in both in-and-out surfaces of a tubular bulb or the vicinity along the longitudinal direction of the bulb. CONSTITUTION:A strip infrared transmitting filter 2, a projector window 3, a sealing part 4, Mo installing foil 5, an inner conductor 6, a W coil filament 7 are installed on an outer surface of a quarts glass straight-tube type bulb 1, and halogen gas is sealed in. The infrared transmitting filter 2 is one that laminates high refractive index layers 22H consisting of titanium oxide or the like and low refractive index layers 22L on bulb glass, namely, a substrate 21 as many as 15 layers alternately, it reflects light and transmits infrared rays. The filter 2 covers the outer surface of the bulb 1 in an angle range of about 210 deg. along the longitudinal direction, and a glass surface with no filter 2 forms the projector window 3. Light produced out of this tungsten halogen lamp is incident into the filter 2, transmitting the infrared rays, and the reflected light is emitted out of the window 3.
