Abstract: Traffic flow simulation system (1) has a section (4d) with a static potential field that represents the influence of an invariant factor on the driving of a vehicle and a dynamic potential field that represents the influence of an varying factor on the driving of a vehicle and a section (4e, 4f) that defines the direction and magnitude of vehicle acceleration based on the static and dynamic potential fields. Independent claims are also included for the following:- (a) a further traffic flow simulation system; (b) traffic flow simulation methods and; (c) a computer readable medium containing a traffic flow simulation program.
