Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce a calcium caseinate hydrolyzate, excellent in solubility and having expected use as a food additive, etc., by suspending acid casein in water in the presence of calcium hydroxide and then reacting the resultant suspension with a protease. CONSTITUTION:Acid casein is suspended in water and calcium hydroxide is then added thereto. The resultant suspension is heated at about 80 deg.C for about 15min. The obtained solution is subsequently cooled and a protease having activity within a neutral or weak alkaline region is then added and reacted therewith while being slowly stirred. The obtained calcium caseinate hydrolyzate is subsequently recovered according to a conventional method.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject enzyme, useful for producing detergents and foods and usable as cosmetics, etc., in a large amount according to simple operation by treating a metaprotease, produced by Bacillus subtilis and recovered from a culture solution with a hydrophobic adsorption support and collecting the adsorbed fraction. CONSTITUTION:A single colony of Bacillus subtilis is cultured in a culture medium containing kanamycin at 37 deg.C for 16hr and then centrifuged to remove the microbial cell. Ammonium sulfate is added to the supernatant so as to provide 60% saturation. The resultant mixture is allowed to stand at 4 deg.C overnight to centrifuge a salted out substance, which is subsequently dissolved in a buffer solution and subjected to passage treatment through a column packed with a hydrophobic adsorption support. The adsorbed fraction is subsequently eluted with a 20mM calcium acetate buffer solution (pH7.0) and the eluted fraction is then precipitated by a trichloroacetic acid precipitation method. The formed precipitates are collected, dissolved in a buffer solution, subjected to SDS-acrylamide gel electrophoresis and fractionated to afford the objective metaprotease useful in a wide range of fields such as production of detergents and foods or cosmetics in a large amount according to simple operation.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To efficiently cultivate a plant with feeding of water in a high dissolved oxygen concentration by carrying out decomposition treatment of an aqueous solution containing hydrogen peroxide with catalase, supplying water after the treatment to the plant and cultivating the plant. CONSTITUTION:Catalase in an amount of about 1-100mg is mixed with an aqueous solution containing about 10-300ppm hydrogen peroxide to contain the dissolved oxygen in the aqueous solution. The resultant aqueous solution is then supplied to a plant for cultivation thereof. Further, although a commercially available fertilizer may be simultaneously applied to the plant, the fertilizer may be pre-added to a hydrogen peroxide solution or catalyst solution at this time. The catalase which is a decomposing enzyme of hydrogen peroxide is obtained from cells, blood, etc., of animals plants and microorganisms, etc. The dissolved oxygen content in the aqueous solution can be regulated by adopting the aforementioned method to accelerate growth of the plant.
