    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a catalyst having a high conversion rate and keeping high activity even under a high concn. condition of carbon monoxide by using metal oxide produced by a spray decomposition method in a metal oxide catalyst for converting carbon monoxide producing hydrogen and carbon dioxide from carbon monoxide and steam. SOLUTION: A catalyst to be used is composed of metal oxide produced by a spray decomposition method spraying a catalyst raw material soln. into carrier gas streams to form liquid droplets and introducing the liquid droplets into a heating furnace by carrier gas to decompose them. The concn. of the raw material soln. is 0.01-10mol/l, pref., 0.05-3mol/l as mol concn. wherein the concns. of respective metal compds. are totalized. Metal oxide is one or more kind of metal oxide selected from a group consisting of copper oxide, iron oxide, chromium oxide and zinc oxide. The raw material used in the spray decomposition method is not especially limited if it can be dissolved in a solvent and nitrates, sulfates, ammonium sulfates, acetates, oxalates or chlorides of respective metals can be used and, as the carrier gas, air is used.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce carbon monoxide without lowering the catalyst activity in high selectivity and yield even under high-temperature reaction condition by contacting carbon dioxide gas and hydrogen with an iron oxide catalyst supported on an inert carrier. CONSTITUTION:An iron oxide catalyst supported on an inert carrier is used as a catalyst for the production of carbon monoxide by contacting carbon dioxide gas and hydrogen with the catalyst. The supported iron oxide catalyst can be produced e.g. by adding ammonia water or sodium carbonate, etc., to an aqueous solution of aluminum nitrate, washing the formed precipitate, drying and baking the precipitate to obtain an alumina carrier, immersing the alumina carrier in an aqueous solution of iron nitrate, drying the impregnated carrier and baking in air stream.     Abstract: PURPOSE: To efficiently obtain carbon monoxide when carbon monoxide is produced by bringing carbon dioxide and hydrogen into contact with a catalyst by using a metallic multiple oxide containing iron oxide prepared by spray decomposition method as the catalyst. CONSTITUTION: An iron compd. such as iron nitrate and iron sulfate, a chromium compd. such as chromium nitrate and chromium sulfate, an aluminum compd. such as aluminum nitrate and aluminum sulfate are dissolved in a solvent such as water and alcohol to prepare the source soln. Then the source soln. is sprayed into a carrier gas flow to produce liq. drops. The produced liq. drops are carried by the carrier gas and introduced into a heating furnace where the drops are decomposed and calcined to obtain a catalyst having high activity comprising a metallic multiple oxide containing iron oxide, chromium oxide and aluminum oxide. Then carbon dioxide and hydrogen are brought into contact with the obtd. catalyst to produce carbon monoxide. This catalyst has a high conversion rate even at high temp. and does not decrease in the activity but maintains its high activity. Thus, carbon monoxide can be efficiently produced.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain phenol in a modest condition without necessity of complex reaction process by reacting benzene and hydrogen peroxide in a liquid phase with coexisting of H2 and in the presence of a 0-valence noble metal of VIII- group in periodic table as a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:In production of phenol from benzene and H2O2 in a liquid phase, the reaction is continuously performed at 0-200 deg.C with coexisting of H2 in the presence of a 0-valence noble metal of VIII-group in periodic table as a catalyst. As the catalyst, Pd, Rh, Ru, Pt, Ir, hydrochloride salt or nitrate of said metal, carboxyl complex or ammine complex, etc., is used and preferably carried in a carrier such as silica, an activated charcoal, alumina or titania, etc., in an amount of 0.1-10%. Solvent such as water, acetic acid, acetonitrile or acetone also may be used. An amount of coexisting hydrogen is preferably 0.1-20 in a molar ratio to H2O2.
