SOLUTION: (1) This heater piping 5 is used for the engine having an air injection, and air injection piping 15 and the heater piping 5 are provided in parallel at an exhaust gas pulsing section 15 of air injection piping 11. (2) The exhaust gas pulsing section 15 of the air injection piping 11 is the section of the piping from a lead valve 14 to an exhaust manifold 12 of the air injection piping.

SOLUTION: A journal 44 consisting of a suction cam shaft 23 provided at one end with a valve characteristic control device 53 and a driven gear 47 and an exhaust cam shaft 21 provided at one end with a drive gear 46 interlocking with the driven gear 47 is rotatably supported on a bearing 43. A crankshaft drive force is transmitted from the exhaust cam shaft 21 to the suction cam shaft 23, which controls the opening closing characteristics of a suction valve based on operation of the valve characteristic control device 53. Further, the journal 50, forming a fixing end for the drive gear 47 at the inside of the driven gear 47, of a plurality of journals formed at a suction cam shaft 23 is increased in diameter to a value higher than the diameter of other journal 44.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a vibration increase in an engine itself or a steering resulting from mounting balance bias such as a slanting mounted V-shaped engine and a V-shaped engine equipped with biasing mounted auxiliary machine. SOLUTION: Vibration sensors 21A, 21B are respectively provided on the respective banks A, B of a V-shaped engine 1 so as to detect vibration based on the operation of the engine 1 for the respective banks A, B. While valve timing adjustment mechanisms 12A, 12B are provided on the banks A, B so that the valve timings at the banks can be respectively adjusted. In a control device 30, the difference of detected vibrations between the banks is corrected in response to the mounting balance bias of the engine 1 so that the respective valve timings are controlled via the valve timing adjustment mechanisms 12A, 12B so as to lessen the corrected vibration difference between the banks.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction device for a multicylinder internal combustion engine with plural suction passages arranged in parallel to the longitudinal direction of a vehicle, capable of restricting the variation of torque resulting from introducing air different in density into cylinders. SOLUTION: A suction device 20 has an air cleaner 21, a throttle body 22, a surge tank 23 and an intake manifold 24. In the throttle body 22, a first passage 22L and a second passage 22R are formed to be arranged in parallel to the longitudinal direction of a vehicle. In the respective passages 22L, 22R, throttle valves 27L, 27R are provided to control the amount of suction air introduced into cylinders #1-6 for an engine 15. A hot water passage 41 extended to the longitudinal direction of the vehicle is formed in the throttle body 22. Cooling water increased in temperature after passed through a water jacket in the engine 15 is distributed in the hot water passage 41 from the front side to the rear side of the vehicle.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a recirculated exhaust gas cooler for an internal combustion engine which allows the reduction of vibration and noise. CONSTITUTION:A cooler (EGR cooler) 6 to cool recirculated exhaust gas is built in a cylinder block 1, an exhaust manifold 2 is connected to the EGR cooler 6 via the first EGR pipe 3 and the EGR cooler 13 is connected to an EGR valve 5 via the second EGR pipe 4. Since the EGR cooler 6 has high rigidity, the rigidity of a cylinder block side wall is increased and engine noise is reduced. Since the cylinder block l has smaller vibration than a cylinder head, the vibration of the EGR pipe and the exhaust manifold connected thereto is held down and noise confined in a room is reduced.

SOLUTION: A cylinder gasket 1 is equipped with a first 2 and a second gasket board 3, and with a first 4 and a second plate 5 put on the boards 2 and 3, respectively. The boards 2 and 3 are provided with a first 11 and a second projection 12 protruding in the opposite directions to each other, and between them a void 13 is formed. The void ranges beyond the corners 11A and 12A of the projections and is extended to the position outside them 11A and 12A, and each corner is formed in a circular arced surface.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve intake efficiency to a combustion chamber in a variable intake system whose effective intake pipe length is variable, by smoothly circulating air from an intake passage to a communication passage. SOLUTION: An intake control device 1 for an internal combustion engine has an intake manifold 23, a surge tank 25, an intake passage 26 and an air cleaner 27. The surge tank 25 and the air cleaner 27 are connected across two intake pipes 26a, 26b which are connected to each other with an acute angle by means of a connection port 41a. The connection port 41a is interrupted from the surge tank 25 by means of a partition wall 41. A first opening/closing valve 42 is arranged on the connection port 41a, while a second opening/closing valve 44 is arranged in the surge tank 25. Communication and interruption between the intake pipes 26a and 26b are performed by opening and closing the valves 42, 44.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent decline in sealing performance caused by shrinkage cavity in forming, in sealing structure of a cylinder head cover and a cylinder head formed by die casting. CONSTITUTION:A gasket 3 is interposed between a cylinder head cover 1 and a cylinder head 2 formed from light metal by die casting and the cylinder head cover 1 is fastened to the cylinder head 2 by a bolt so as to secure sealing performance between them 1, 2. A flange 5 is integrally formed around the circumferencial edge of the cylinder head cover 1. The gasket 3 is continuously formed along the flange 5 of the cylinder head cover 1. In a casting mold for the cylinder head cover 1, its liquid metal pouring port is arranged facing to the flange 5. The wall thickness of the gasket 3 is set different partially so that sealing pressure of the liquid metal pouring part 16 of the flange 5 which faces to the liquid metal pouring port becomes higher than sealing pressure of other parts of the flange 5.
