An exemplary item return shipping system is configured to: receive a request to return an item to a retailer; provide the user with a unique identifier associated with the request; and receive an indication that the user has presented the parcel and the unique identifier at an access point. The system may then facilitate placement of a pre-printed machine-readable indicia (e.g., a barcode) on the parcel at the access point and associate it with the retailer information. The system then facilitates delivery of the parcel from the access point to a handling facility and facilitates placement of a shipping label (that includes the address of a returns processing facility that is determined using the retailer information) on the parcel at the handling facility. In various embodiments, the system then facilitates shipment of the parcel to the returns processing facility.

A method and computer program product for creating an international commercial shipping invoice on-demand. In various embodiments, the method comprises storing an electronic copy of a shipping entity's identification indicator, storing an electronic copy of the shipping entity's shipping signature, receiving invoice data relating to the parcel shipment, and subsequently combining the identification indicator and the shipping signature with the invoice data to generate an on-demand signed international commercial shipping invoice. In various embodiments, a signed international commercial shipping invoice may be generated by a parcel shipment carrier subsequent to receiving invoice data. In other embodiments, an international commercial shipping invoice may be generated by a customs broker upon request by an importing agent during customs processing.

A system, in various embodiments, is configured to redirect undeliverable parcels to alternate delivery locations. The parcels may be undeliverable due to an unavailability of an intended recipient of the parcels to sign for the parcels or otherwise take delivery of the parcels at the delivery address. The system may be configured to determine a suitable alternate delivery location based at least in part on: one or more parcel recipient preferences, one or more parcel shipper preferences, a location of the delivery address, etc. The system may be further configured to notify the parcel recipient of a redirection of the parcel to the alternate delivery address.
