Abstract: A quadrail ergonomic apparatus includes two or more pathways (11, 13) designed to permit movement in two or more directions mounted to a static object above a surface. One or more carriages (20, 22, 24, 26, 28) designed to move in two or more directions are disposed within the pathways (11, 13). Abstract: A quadrail ergonomic assembly apparatus includes at least two pathways 11 and 13 that are mounted to a static structure above a surface and one or more carriages 20, 22, 24, 26, 28 that move in at least two directions disposed within the pathways. Each carriage is suspended above the surface from the pathways and maintains at least one engine part 34, 54, 84, 104, 134 in place above the surface and permits movement of the engine part that it holds in at least four directions. The assembly apparatus serves to permit the manoeuvring and alignment of the heavy engine parts for assembly without excessive exertion by the assemblers.
